Heads are all rated at 4ohm, and cabs are 8ohm... so the 410 can handle the 1200, 212 the 700, and the rest the 300.

I do find it odd that the 210 and 115 aren't rated for the 700... even doubled up. You have to go 212 or 410.

I would have made all the cabinet able to handle the 8 ohm output of their biggest amp, the V 1200. Or make them all for the 700 and a special set for the 1200.

It depends what you mean by "handle" ... Plug any of those cabs into the V3, crank the master volume, the bass control and set the Ultra Lo to boost and I'm sure you'll get really really close to damaging those drivers.

Our own ears should be our guide to how far to push the EQ & volume settings on our amps to prevent speaker damage.

I get it that during the heat of the battle our better judgement can be overruled, just try to use a little common sense.

Well, look and sound interesting, will def try the amps and cabs out if they are coming my way. Playing V4b trough 2x210 AV cabs, Mesa tt800 trough Aguilar slx410 and the Fender ACB combo

It depends what you mean by "handle" ... Plug any of those cabs into the V3, crank the master volume, the bass control and set the Ultra Lo to boost and I'm sure you'll get really really close to damaging those drivers.

I mean I would make cabinets with speakers that match the power output of the line of amps at their 8 ohm output across the line like Mesa did.

So whatever cabinet I got, 112, 115, 210, 212, 215, 410 would work and not blow up with whatever amp I used.

SGT (ie "Super Grit Technology") to mimic an overdriven old school amplifier is marketing cringe. Especially when there are dozens of pedals already available to give you whatever flavor you want. I happen to like Tech21 VT Bass, which is essentially an analog Ampeg sim.

Whatever happened to "Scrambler"? Oh wait, that was 5-year old marketing cringe.

I am sure having it built-in is a plus for some folks, and I wish Ampeg best of success. I hope the amps prove to be good - the cabinets look promising.

The SGT circuit is also essentially an analog Ampeg sim.

Why is it "cringe" on an amp but not a pedal? All this amp is, is the SGT-DI pedal circuitry combined with a power amp.

Why? The 410hlf does. Why couldn't this one do it? It's the same idea but with neo speakers.

My comment has a lot less to do with Ampeg gear and more to do with how they and other bass gear companies specify it. Where are the measurement curves that back up these claims? Are the measurements done in a real anechoic environment or are they done in a live room withe speaker placed against a wall or in a corner? What about power ratings of amps? I bet a majority of products are rated at 10% distortion and that some products are rated using peak numbers. I think companies owe it to consumers to be honest about what they’re delivering.

Hah, if you had my ears, all of your speakers would be toast.

One would think it does, wouldn't one? And yet no. The SVT-410HLF does 28Hz at -10dB, not -3dB (the PF-410HLF reaches 30Hz, also at -10dB).

-10 dB is the audio equivalent of something I wrote a few days ago - - the speedometer of my car shows 160 MPH but it won’t actually go that fast. -10 dB is one-tenth power (not even usable in my experience).

Do you know exactly how much "wattage" you're outputting at a given SPL?
The answer might surprise you.

Smaller shows / rehearsals the 1x15" would be fine. Bigger stages the 2 cabs.

I'm not gonna lie, it would be awesome to experience playing through 4 of those 212s. But I can't imagine ever needing such a rig.

Or even 3 1x12s is a good rig.

If you can tell me what the sensitivity of the speaker system is and the SPL you’re achieving, I can calculate how much power is needed to create that using Inverse Square Law.

Gary Willis used to run 3 GS 1x12s all the time. I think he has moved on to the SL's.

For accuracy, all Mesa Subway bass amps include the bag.
