New Ampeg Venture Series

Ok so now I gotta try that VB-88! They're keeping the lid on it for some reason. I really hop they do put it out
I would be willing to wager the 8x8 is ported with the 28hz low frequency spec. I love the idea of the modern 8x8, I just wish it was wide enough to fit my V4B. I’m sure it will be a killer cabinet.
Not excited about this release. If they bring out a real SVT update, amp and cabinets, then they'll have my attention.
What would qualify as a real SVT update?
Tilt-and-roll doesn't cut it for me.
I'd modify it or make a platform so I could have casters at each corner, anyway.
Moreover, WHY would the SVT need an update?
As of today, this is news to me. I've been basically loading up booty in a backpack and hauling it all friggin week every day for a month and a half straight.
This said, I *really* liked the aesthetic of the PF series more than this. *BUT* it does look to have a few features that I thought missing on my PF500 - the overdrive ("Super Grit Tech") seems to have a B15 and SVT mode. Honestly, having their preamp/DI and overdrive pedal I think I'll sit this line out since what I've got does what I need it to, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this in place of the PF series.
Love it, it'll have room for some cables, a tuner, and a thermos with some coffee.

Being a guy who wakes up at 5am and hits the bike to go to the gym and then work, without an alarm darn near no matter what, I will take a ten pound head at 3 am any day of the week over a fifty to eighty pound head.

My current rig actually includes a YS15 with a newer Eminence driver in it. I dig the aesthetic, and the fact that a previous owner put handles on the sides. Reduced my buying price and makes carrying easier.

I'd be cool with that too, but if something that's almost as big as an 810 only has side handles that seems like a giant pain in the ****.
Deleting bars/sliders/wheels will make the weight on the spec sheet look more appealing, but if that makes it harder to move it kinda defeats the purpose.
It weighs as much as the 212AV which is OK to handle with the side handles. The issue is that it is almost twice as tall as the 212V--which may make it awkward to lift. If it has casters, it would make life easier...
Have had the V3 for a couple of days now and played with it a few times solo in the garage. My closest comparison for this amp would be the Tone Hammer 350 with the bells and whistles that I wish it had. Namely a second channel and effects loop. With a similar power range, the EQ feels familiar and musical. (I LOVE the new sweepable knob, I sit just under 2k all day.) I don’t plan to get the matching cab, I’ve got a Aguilar DB112 that I’ll never let go off. As a practice and small gig amp, I think we have a winner. It checks a lot of boxes, my only minor gripe that Ampeg does as standard practice is that the aux in plays through the headphones only. I would love to practice alongside tracks at normal volume.

It's shaped like the 810, 610, and 410hlf, so they probably have the same towel bar and tilt castors like all the others that are cut away at the top like that.
Makes sense as the cab hasn't been formally announced and posting the manual that included it was prob unintentional/premature.
Yep, just like Yampeg saying they would fill backorders on the PF-350, then terminating it. Now, the PF-20T is on extended backorder??? All this with substantial price increases with their Venture series?
I have sold all my "Ampeg" products and moved on. I had great hopes for this "marriage". Maybe others will have a better experience.
yes- especially since every other product in the entire world has not gotten more expensive over the last few years. Ampeg/Yamaha is literally the ONLY COMPANY to have raised prices. I was also really hoping they'd bring out a heavier series of amps than the SVT, but in a class D format. What were they thinking, indeed....
