New Amplitube 5 Coming Soon!

I would try a different DAW and see if you experience the same noise before returning the AXE. Could be a ASIO driver issue. Uninstall and reinstall the AXE driver. Make sure you are using the right driver. I have a focusrite solo and axe, so sometimes when i open up the DAW it defaults to focusrite drivers and i change it right away to the Axe ASIO drivers. Do you have same noise using Amp4 in standalone? You could download Reaper DAW and see if you get noise on another DAW. My axe is working pretty good in standalone, Mixbus and Reaper so far. I have Cubase elements LE and will try it later today. Also make sure you open up Axe control panel to verify your settings.
Thanks.

I have tons of time and money invested in Cubase and plug ins which makes me hesitant to start learning something new, but if all else fails I may bite that bullet. I'm kicking myself for deleting all my previous line 6 software. It was so dated they don't even offer downloads online any more.

I am using the axe ASIO but may try using ASIO4ALL which has saved my butt in the past.

Going to hit the IKM and Steinberg forums today too. Maybe its time for me to move away from Cubase? Arrgh...

Thanks guys.

I did all that... but its still happening, and I'm getting nervous that I just dropped a few hundred bucks to make it so I can't record anymore. I got rid of all my obsolete software that I was comfortable using (so it wouldn't interfere) and can't turn back.

Any ideas what else might be the problem before I start calling IK? I set both Cubase and AXE to 44.1 and I've tried several different buffer sizes.

Also, I can only adjust the buffer size on the standalone Amplitube. I'm assuming that goes over to whatever is popping up in the Cubase insert (which is I hope how I'm supposed to be using it?).

Any other thoughts or ideas?
Are you using Windows or Mac?. I would check your sound control panel settings for your PC and your sample rate.

I would say it has got nothing to do with your DAW or anything else that you might think is causing conflict, so I wouldn't start deleting things because they are probably not the cause. This sounds like a basic set up problem which I would go through first before you start thinking of other things that could be the cause of the problem..

So....

I went through every possible thing I could regarding Windows (I'm using a PC), AXE, Cubase and Amplitube. NOTHING was making any difference, and right before throwing the towel in and flinging everything out the window (OK, not really but I felt it), I realized I changed where I used to have my interface. And where it was now was about 6 inches from my WIFI router which had me once believing my Roland practice amp was finally ready for the garbage :) . I moved the amp, and the amp was fixed.

I moved the AXE and my cracking and popping stopped.

SOB!

Next question though :) ... since I'm brand new to Amplitube.

I'm used to recording differently all my digital life. I get a sound, record that sound, then add additional effects later if I want them. Is it possible to do that with Amplitube, or do I HAVE to use it in an insert effect and go through the monitor always? Something seems freaky to me about super clean guitar tracks that I can do anything with if I mess around with Amplitube after recording. I'm sure there are benefits to that and I can adjust, but is it possible to record guitar and bass WITH the effects?

Thanks in advance.

Good call. Glad that took care of your noise. My interface is about 2 feet from my router. I am going to move mine further away as sometimes i fight with high gain or distortion.

I could not get my cubase to work yesterday, it said it was at the end of its trial period which was weird since it came free with something i bought. Oh well, i used it once and wasn't a fan of it.

If you are using the Amp4 DAW, you cant insert other plugins. Only the effects amd plugins built in Amp4.
I use Harrison Mixbus and Reaper mostly for a DAW and record clean dry track and add inserts to track using Amp4 amp and cab models with other inserts before and after the Amp4 plugin with compressor and EQ.

It would be nice if Amp5 would host other plugins, but i doubt it.
I am excited for Amp5 release and hope I'm not disappointed. Been using IK multimedia since like 2010 i think.
First one i bought had Amp3 and came with Ampeg svx1 and came with an interface usb cord kind of like a Rocksmith cord for game console. Not much has changed since then software wise, so like i said im hoping to not be disappointed with new release.

With Cubase I'm pretty sure you just need to register it. Its still a free version, but they give you 30 days to authorize or register it.

I'm psyched. Have a new Gretch guitar out for delivery today, new monitors, new interface, Amplitube, and all my recording stuff working again - I hope :) . If that don't give me inspiration, nuthin will.

Finally installed, Just skimmed through it and i will say that there is a huge improvement on the user interface. Much easier to find things and everything is categorized. Much appreciated change. Was hoping for some Mesa bass amps and cabs so far all i see is for guitars. Seen i new bass amp i never used before, it was a New York something another. Lot of stuff to explore for sure.

New York B750 + NY410 (based on Aguilar DB750 and Aguilar DB410) is the new bass amp and cab. I can not figure out how to import a track in standalone. Where import track used to be in Amp4 is not in Amp5. Works good in Harrison Mixbus is all i tried so far.

I think you just open the DAW and copy and paste the audio file into a vacant track space then use the play and record buttons at the bottom of the window.

I started looking through what they added for bass when they announced AT5. The answer is "not much." They are still using one weird GK combo amp, way too much Ampeg, no Mesa, and only one Orange. They added one Aguilar, but it's an old EOL version of the DB750?
It seems like bass players get just as hosed in the amp sim world as they do the retail space. How many versions of Marshall amps are out there? Mesa, Orange, Peavey, Engl? Dozens of versions of the same amps. Handfuls of orginal custom amp sims. For bass? "Here's another SVT sim, and I guess Ignite's SHB-1 (which is years old now). Now STFU."
Being a bass player really sucks some times.

I am very happy with the Bass models that are available and I think that goes for the majority of Bassists. So there is no Mesa amps well to be truthful that doesn't bother me in the least as there is enough on offer with a large selection of Ampeg, Orange, Fender, Vox, Hiwatt, GK,Trace Elliot and Marshall, and yes a lot of Bassists use Marshall gear too. The new version Amplitube 5 is a huge step up from Amplitube 4 with everything sounding more realistic than previous versions. I applaud IK for this and in my opinion it still is the best amp sim application on the market.

OK... so why do I seem to be the only one here having issues, yet again?

The stand alone version takes 5 or more minutes to load, and now when I open a project in Cubase - it takes an equal amount of time. Was also a bit of challenge to FIND in my Cubase plugins. I updated all plugins, Amplitube 5 was listed - but somehow it hid itself in the "other" section in the Insert menu. I had to open that up in order to find it (see screenshot below)

And then there's this. Is this all that's visible for others when they open it in their DAW? There is no way that I can find to enlarge this or get a full picture. I grabbed and pulled at the edges, looked for scroll bars... Seems A5 is getting cut off at the bottom. And yes, I've started, restarted, rebooted, etc.

Help anyone?

No issues here with GUI. I tried Harrison mixbus, Reaper, Ableton live lite and Reason lite 11. All looks good except for some reason it says its not authorized on any of the DAW's. Maybe because i did ssd migration yesterday. I will re authorize and report back.
