New Arrival - Roscoe Century Standard Plus 6 J (Koa/BEM)

Yep. I used to think if I went Roscoe I'd want to go "all the way" to get the carved top and deep finish, but the "Plus" basses are looking pretty sweet.
...why this is still sitting in anyone's stock is baffling.
It looks fantastic, but you should HEAR that beast!
I love all of 'em, but there are a select few that make me wish I could just keep them and not tell anyone they were even in existence - this one is on that list.
Seriously.
Someone, PLEASE, give this bass a good home!!!

Gard pointed out to me that J pickups are no longer an upcharge on the Standard & Standard Plus models. So POOF, there went $200 off the price of this 6 string. Was $3050, now $2850.
It just FEELS better when the price starts with a "$2" instead of a "$3", doesn't it?

There definitely is a certain psychological thing that happens when something is $2,???? instead of $3,??? that's for sure.
I continue to maintain that the Stds are the bang-for-the-buck king of boutiques. I had some bad thoughts about one of the bubinga tops available but I've got too damn many basses already...

I'm still a little confused on if I should go 5 or 6 but I'm kind of thinking I have a nice passive 4 string jazz so I should go 6. It's been a while since I had a 6, but I really liked having one back on the day.
Most of my playing is at home or church these days and I'd kind of like to get into the Todd Johnson chord/melody thing. I also like to "play along" to Yellowjackets stuff so...

Yeah, that koa top is gorgeous. If I had any inclination of playing 6 I'd be in trouble.

Yeah, I am very fine with my Geddy and it covers all my "gigs" just fine, but when I want to do something like Yellowjackets, I am screwed. Granted, stuff like that is just for me, but still...I still have trouble with the guilt part. I know, I just need to man up and get over it, if I would just get one and keep it I'd be better off financially in the long run, etc.
