I have an ATK 700, ATK 750KA, and a SRX590 from Ibanez...the SRX is a very powerful bass with a great neck, IMO.

Just noticed something...Theres a 9V slot, in theory this bass should be active (Haven't opened the cavity yet) however the site is telling me it is passive...Anyone know for sure?

it has passive pups but active electronics (EQ)..

Not many people seem to like SRX, or Ibanez for that matter...I am glad mine can sway a bit! I am really not brand dependent. My first was an Ibanez (cheap jumpstart pack) My second was an Epiphone Goth Thunderbird, and now this.

I like Ibanez. I've had a RB-999 bean bass (stunningly good tiny little bass, I miss it), a BTB-1305 Prestige (which I didn't keep), an older TR-series 200W (great ash-body P-bass sound) and my latest is a NOS BTB-1205E NTF which is a really nice instrument. The Ibby's just don't seem to get the respect they deserve from a lot of players.

I like the higher-end SR-series basses. Easy to play, and they sound great. Good score, great price. What's not to like?
