NEW BUILDING

:rollno:

You'd best do that under Greg's watch.

I'll just hog tie you and throw you out back by the dumpster with some bubble wrap shoved in your mouth to shut you up.

;)

Don't throw him out back, that would be just mean and the VT students would probably pee on him. At least pack him in a box and ship him to Iran or Syria with no return address. :D

...hmm...I think he'll fit in a 410 box....a bit of padding, a couple bottles of water, a box of Twinkies....

...that might just work!

:hyper:

;)

Sending me to Iran or Syria with a box of Twinkies will be PERFECT!

I WILL BE KING! And then I'll buy Roscoe from Keith with all the profits from the opiate sales to the infidels. :smug:

:hiding:

:D

God Bless, Ray

More progress on the floors today! They're almost to the floor box, so I expect I'll hear some cursing this afternoon. :) I know I hate cutting around round stuff.

And we had a minor setback on the outlets. I went to put the cover plates on yesterday afternoon, and it seems like every other one was cut too big. F*ck!!!! Nothing a little tape, mud and paint won't fix, but I was more happy when the painting was done. Now I've got to scramle to get this done before the finisher gets here on Friday, 'cause I want to stay out of that room right until the clinic day once the finish goes down... sigh... :D

The showroom floor is all laid now! The guys will come back tomorrow to lay the hallway, and then the floor finishers will start their work on Friday.

I also got smart about the outlets. I called our drywall guy and asked him to come fix my fixing of the problem. :) He'll be here tomorrow, too.

Yeah, that was something my dad always said: If you don't know what you're doing, it's cheaper, faster, and easier to pay the guy that DOES know how to do it than it is to pay him to fix your f***ups.

;)

...seriously though, looks fantastic man!

:hyper:

looking really nice!

i dig the accent color wall behind the opening, that is going to really pop against the wood floors!

are you staining the floor or just clearcoat?

Thanks!

We're going with a clearcoat. As dark as the walls are, we want to keep the floors as light as possible. That should brighten up the feeling of the room and add some nice contrast, too.

The hallway floor is going down as we speak. I imagine they'll have that done in just a few hours. The nice thing about gluing the floor down? You don't have to face nail as you get close to the back wall! So the last row is really no harder to put down than the first.

As we wrap up Thursday night here @ Rocket Music, here's the latest... the floor was all laid by the early afternoon, and we're expecting the floor finishers @ 8 AM tomorrow. We also had the mud guys come in today to patch my patches around the outlets, and those are now all dried, sanded and painted. They look to me like they've disappeared, I just hope that's true in bright sunlight tomorrow. So now I'm just waiting for the last coat of paint to dry so I can go put the electrical covers on before I call it a day...

Once I leave tonight, we won't set foot on the floor again until we start setting up chairs for the clinic next Thursday evening or Friday morning.

Woo hoo!!! WE'RE THERE!! :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:

And, yes, a Bud Light is being consumed at the moment. Ahhhhh...

Man, this is almost making me cry. Part of it is the fumes from this sealer coat, but mainly it's seeing a long term dream come to fruition... wow!!!

Here's a fun fact - the floor finishers are a father/son team. I guess the son is part-time, though... because he's also the Chief Of Police in Narrows, VA. How cool is that?

The sealer coat is almost done as I type, and the floor looks absolutely amazing!! The guys will be back tomorrow to screen the floor & put down the first coat of finish, and then they've decided to do it all over again on Sunday instead of Monday. They don't like working on Sunday, but they need to scoot out of town for vacation. So that'll let the floor get that much harder before the clinic... which is a week from today!! Holy cow!
