... we called in the cavalry to get the wall painting moving ahead rapidly.

Left to right, here's my wife Maggie, my sons Will and Riley, and Danny's son Cole:

Sorry for the clutter. We've got more painting to do tomorrow (well, later today), and then we have to clean up the floor in a big way so the floor guys can get right to it on Monday.

We did put up some of the overhead track lights this evening, just enough so we could keep working after the sun went down. When we get them all up there and pointed at some instruments... this place is going to sparkle!!

So it's really coming together. It's hard to believe that it was still torn back to the studs Wednesday morning... what an amazing 4 days!!

Wowza! Great work, great crew. Sweat equity- my office / shop has plenty of it as well. Makes you feel great to buy a building for your business and make it your own. I could send you pics of my shop with chain saws, fertilizing trucks, chippers, etc..., which could be boring to some, however my office has my SWR Silverado combo amp, assorted speaker cabs and a nice Mike Lull M5V for my "down time".

I am psyched to see the building in person this month, Greg. I will even offer to help paint if we have time (luckily the sheet rock is all done - I HATE mudding and sanding!). Booking the hotel as I type this.....

Awesome!

Looks amazing. Basses will really pop against that black. the floor looks pretty simple and straight forward. If you have a god crew like the drywall guys they should knock that out in no time.

How exciting for you all...and a lot of "sweat equity" in there, too, which makes it even better I think. You may not think so this morning when you're tired, but soon enough.

Will Jimmy's sessions be the first thing in the new store? First purchases by Ryan and I? That would be pretty cool. Can't wait to get some cash flow going for you :-)

Will a "lesson room" be ready for the 14th?

Keep the pics coming. I check for updates on this thread all the time :-)

LOL. I bought that when our South American friends were hanging the drywall. They split before we had a chance to tip a few, so I did the honors last night. Not my favorite, but it's drinkable. :D

So today's been fairly anti-climactic. Nothing but second coats going up. It doesn't feel like progress, but it has to be done...

We're all done with the painting in the showroom and the new hallway now. Danny is putting down drop cloths in the waiting room, so I imagine we're moving on to painting that now...

My mind has moved ahead to trim. I need to catch up with Gard for some tips on wood suppliers in the area. A trip to G'boro might be in order this coming week. I need some long 5/4 walnut boards. I'm going to mill a slatwall route in some long strips of walnut. We'll hang those strips securely to the wall and then just put guitar hangars wherever we feel like it along those strips. Sort of like Invalid Link Removed, but with walnut instead of metal strips...

Yep, the clinic will definitely be the first official thing to happen in the new store. We haven't had this facility open to the general public since we moved in here, mainly 'cause the place has been such a wreck. And the place won't be 100% done when we do the clinic, either. I'm sure we'll have trim work left to do and a couple doors left to hang... but it'll be done enough that we can set some chairs up and not be embarrassed to invite people inside. :D

I haven't figured out the logistics of the lessons just yet. There's not really a small, private room here at the new store... so we'll either do it in a big room here, or we'll do it in one of the lesson rooms over at the other store.

We've got a 3-man crew going on the flooring today. 3 guys laying when it's a long open run, or 2 guys laying w/ 1 guy cutting when they're against something tricky (like that first run against the wall w/ the brick pillars).

It's being glued down straight to the concrete, and it's going moderately quickly. They're thinking it'll all be laid by Wednesday. I'm hoping we can get the floor finishers in here to knock out the sanding and finishing by the end of the weekend so we can let the finish dry as much as possible before Friday...

Anyway, here's what the floor looks like after a morning of prep work and 1-2 hours of laying...

I find it hilarious that Miller Lite touts themselves as being superior tasting to Bud Light. Really?!? Even my piss poor taste in beer knows they're both awfully darn watery... if one's better than the other, that's not exactly something to be proud of.

And that's the last unkind thing I'll ever say about Bud Light. I'm sorry Bud Light... you know I love you.

One thing I did notice last time I was in Canada, I had some Bud at a social event and it tastes a lot Better across the border. I could actually drink Canadian Bud and it wasn't bad.
