NEW BUILDING

This is awesome, there is nothing wrong with shedding tears over accomplishing a dream.

Will there be Champagne during the Grand Opening? Champagne, not Champale!!! If you serve Champale, Lil Ray will want to move in as he is tired of Ripple and Onion Soup. :D

Champaign is nice, but as I will have been with my new bass without an amp for 24 hours, I'll be looking for an amp to plug into!!

Seriously, I am envious. I'd love to have a bass shop.

...gettin' cooler by the minute!

I'm taking a break from fixing things up around the house for the Saturday hang....my place will not be nearly as cool as your shop though!

:bassist:

I don't think anyone will care that much...I know I won't. As long as there's gear and beer, right. I think it's great that you are having this bunch anywhere near your home ;-)

Looks great man..all these minor hiccups will be loooooong forgotten after things get rollin...I'm just waiting on the cdo to kick in and watch you swap floor woods and wiring in the walls to get the best tone.... I kid I kid

This is Greg, not Jerry....

;)

...and this just in: the guy we got our quote for painting the outside of the house just agreed to the counter offer we gave this morning, and will start on it tomorrow, so, fresh coat of paint outside for the GTG!

:hyper:

:)

It's the new old house. LOL. Old house, getting fixed up.

Yup, spending this weekend working on the yard and interior painting.

We just hired a crew to clean and paint the outside (I don't want that headache! :spit: ), they start tomorrow. Should be done by Friday of next week, so the house will look all spiffy for the hang! ;)

Sadly, the new house is about 3-4 weeks from "done" at this point - when we started to set all this up, it was SUPPOSED to be finished in mid-May. :spit: Would have been a really cool place to do this! :hmm:

The final coat of finish was put on the floor this morning, and it looks mighty fine!

Since we have to let the floor finish dry for a couple/few days, we've turned our attention to the warehouse. It got well and truly wrecked during all the construction. Tools everywhere, dust everywhere. Uggghhh. So today we spent some time discarding construction debris, organizing, mopping, and dusting. Once all that was done, we decided to setup Temporary Studio #2. This will tide us over until we're ready to start tackling the studio buildout sometime in the not-too-distant future. The original purple carpet from the flooring showroom is serving it's final duty. I won't miss that when it's gone!

Here's a shot of the big pile of stuff ready to go into the showroom for the clinic (that's all the gear on the left, including Jimmy's rig), and my new temporary studio setup is on the left.

Freakin' beautiful man - both shots! :)

So, baseboards and door trim this week too, as well as getting wall hangers up?

:)

I'm still slingin' paint, 6:30 Sunday night, just finished cutting in the primer in the foyer of the house, about to roll out the walls, and call it a day. Got the kids working on trim in the foyer too. We'll get the foyer, living room, and the "music room" all rolled out tomorrow - we were shooting for redoing the kitchen, but I don't see that happening because of the insane dentil molding at the ceiling. The outside is already a totally different color today!

Those that have seen Casa de Lewis in the past will not even recognize it this time!

:bassist:

...is it Friday yet?

:hyper:

I'm afraid we won't have time for trim or hanging stuff on the walls. We need to stay off the floors until Thursday-ish, and I don't want to rush that stuff. I also don't want to be working really hard on Thursday and Friday - that'll be time to just relax and enjoy the experience. We'll get back to work after the clinic...

Absolutely. You've earned a couple days of downtime. Start fresh next Monday.
