NEW BUILDING

Oh, I will indeed!

My plan for this weekend was to start running all of this oak through a big drum sander that I have in my shop at home. However, we got slammed last night by a massive wind storm. I suspect that I will be out in the yard with a chainsaw all day tomorrow...

It was crazy. That was the first time I've felt the need to get in the utility closet under our stairs (we don't have a basement). One minute my son and I were playing chess in the living room, the next minute it's like there's a hurricane going on outside.

We just lost a couple treetops and a bunch of limbs, but no house or car damage - thank goodness! I hope everyone else around here came through OK!

Yeah, I saw the some of the damage in the area (and D.C.) and it looked like a tornado came through. Tree's laid out everywhere.
Glad to hear that you guys didn't get severe damage, although a power outage during a heatwave like this can be major bummer!

Yeah, we just have a few limbs down out my house, and no power which definitely stinks. The shop came through completely unscathed, and we've got power here. No word on Danny's place, he's on vacation... but I suspect he's fine. It was the higher elevations that really got pummeled.

You can drive up/down my road (which is a 1.5 mile climb up a decent mountain) and see exactly where the more serious damage started/stopped in terms of elevation. It's like night and day.

My wife and kids are making the most of it. They're calling it camping at home, and they're breaking out all the camp cooking stuff. Me? I hate camping. :)

For some reason we were the only house in the local 20 miles that went unscathed...really weird... Ray there are still outages in town...50,000 or so I heard. Calling it a land hurricane.

Yeah, that's a bit intimidating looking:

Yeah! It looks like a scene from the movie "Day After Tomorrow" just before this scene:
