Interesting. My wife's Prius C is a bit slow, but it's not a whole lot different from the '95 Civic she had before. The controls are a bit lighter, including the brakes, but I have found them to be plenty sensitive.Oh no. I drove a Prius today because I had to replace the awful, malfunctioning plastic coolant valve. I became very agitated and started throwing tools. Working on it sucks enough, but driving it is worse. I could not park the thing and jump out of it fast enough. I hate it, so much. It's like a death trap for people who expect to have control of their machine. The brake pedal is literally an on/off switch, the throttle pedal more of a suggestion box, and the steering linkage must be straight off that old arcade game where three players could race stadium trucks together. Sorry Prius owners, I just can't. And I drive a Nissan Versa (sometimes, when it isn't in the shop).
Working on it? Um, I don't even know where to find the engine. I used to work on cars all the time. Now, I'm really happy to be completely ignorant about how the work. I don't miss the busted knuckles, rust and other crud falling in my eyes, fishing around to deal with something I can't quite reach or see, dropping the one part I can't possibly replace into the one place I can't possibly ever find it. Paying other people to "enjoy" all that is just fine with me.
We all like different things. I can't figure out why other bass players think Thunderbirds neck dive. So there you have it.
