New Curbow Progress

Thanks for the photo help Treena. Also, thanks for the offer Toastedweed. :)

I'm hoping that when it's completed, it will give some of Adrian's F-Basses a run for thier money!! :p

you have nothing to worry about! that thing is absolutely gorgeous!! and you WILL win because i had an offer i couldnt refuse on the buckeye F bass- so it's gone!!
but wait till you see what George is cooking up for me!!:
anyways, THAT bass of yours is going to be deadly! i have been checking out Adam Nittis cd with the Curbows and they sound incredible- he gets one of the all time killerest slap tones out of his.. CONGRATS!!!

Thanks - another thing that will set this far apart from other Curbows is that Dan Lakin hooked me up with a pair of Basslines MM/J pickups and set of his spec'd Bartolini electronics. Just to change things up a bit ;)

Judging by the Laklands I have owned, that package will make this one *angry* sounding bass!

Tell Greg to step on it !!!! Wait never mind that, he should take his sweet time with this beauty. Sweet Holy Moses, this is probably hands down one of the coolest looking tops I have seen yet. Seeing the clearcoat and the shine is what iced the cake for me.

I've always dug Greg's basses and saw this one beginning on the site. Greg said he's dying to make someone a single-cutaway style someday: simple, straight-ahead, rock&roll. Hmmmm, you got me thinking now. :bassist:

Is that an Alnico or Ceramic MM ? I have the Ceramic in 2 of my basses and I am planning to switch to the Alnico since they are a bit warmer and darker. The Ceramic has been too bright for my pathetic tastes.

Man, sweet bass. You'll have a blast with it. Maybe finish it off with some cool dark blue Sims SIDE LED's ? :D

Yes, I am indeed having a singlecut built right now. Mine's not exactly "simple, straight ahead, rock&roll"--it's a carved top, semi-hollow zebrawood 6--but I understand he's workng on a couple of the singlecuts with mine, and one of them may be more what Isimy is looking for.

Oh I'm a fan of the 5's and 6's as well though I'm pathetic at playing them. I'd love to see anything Greg builds. He needs more photos on his site. Goodness and you couldn't find a more friendly and personable luthier who just loves to build and experiment. I've been dying to take his luthier course but just can't get the time off and come up with the cash just yet. It would be well worth it.

We were just chatting one day about simple 4 string singlecut. Mike Z, it would be great to see how your 6 turns out as well !!
