If EA were to produce a new 2x8 cabinet then it would have the following parameters: M-Line configuration, Neo magnet, Kevlar woofer cones, 19.0"H x 15.6"W x 12.5"D(smaller than a VL-208), projected weight should be under 30 lbs(VL-208 is 48 lbs).

I would have been in for the reissue but since I have found a couple of used VL-208s, I would be very interested to see how this NL-208 compares. If they managed to recreate the sound of the VL-208 in a smaller and significantly lighter box, and I would assume a more efficient one, that would be a no-brainer.

I think this might be a physical impossibility. Sure the Neo is lighter but a 208 is not going to get under 30 lbs and still sound like the VL208. I would love to be wrong, believe me!!

I would commit to one. I have never had the chance to play one and am presently using a Epifani 12.

I am curious about the new neo version coming out.

Still waiting for the Berggie model and Flite is working on one as well.

It would be great if we could get them all together and have a "shootout"
comparison test.

I've been a believer ever since I paired my old nappy-haired VL208 with an Acme B2. Unbelievable! I'd jump at the chance to own a brand new VL208. Count me in for one!

P.S. Will EA re-carpet an elderly VL208?

According to Gary, it was simply too expensive to make a cabinet that included a transmission line and 3-way speaker array. Everyone and their mother thought they sounded great, but they were priced way into the upper end of the market, and the profit margin was very small for such an item.
