Funny you'd say that, after seeing the post before yours I checked the biggest online EU retailers and as it happens Stringsdirect do have them (no clue since when):I am really, really interested in these but they have yet to appear in the UK it seems.
And I'm selling my 50-105 set..I'm selling my 40-95 set if anyone's interested. I like them a lot, but they're a bit too loosey goosey for me.
So what are the reviews to those that have tried them?
Just got a shipping notice from BSO! 2815: 40-95 on the way!
I got a set, when putting them on snapped the "D" string trying to bring it up to pitch. Ordered a new set, I can see these aren't as forgiving as roundwounds. This is the first time I've ever had a bass string break in the 40 plus years I've been playing.Have you been putting longscale flats on shortscale basses? If you wrap the main part of a flatwound string around the post, it's probably going to break. I don't know if the new cobalt flats will come in shortscale, but lots of flatwounds do and are made to be put on shortscale basses without any issues.
It's a 75 Precision and it broke right at the tuner. What kind of bass did you put it on and it broke? Where exactly did it break?

Thanks, I'll try that. I already ordered a new set, since I couldn't find any singlesDid you contact Ernie Ball support? I did about a dead A string and they didn't hesitate to make it right. I can't imagine them not making this one right as well...
Good Luck!
I'll be sure and check. I was thinking that I may have cranked them up too much. But it didn't seem like it. I haven't had flats on a bass since the 70's and I didn't put them on it. Is it possible that I did over do it?Check the tuner for a sharp point. Many times fingers cut through the string. Usually I see that on newer basses though.
UPDATE: I contacted EB support and they are sending me out a new string. That's Awesome!I'll be sure and check. I was thinking that I may have cranked them up too much. But it didn't seem like it. I have been reading some posts on here about flats being lower tension. I guess I need to be extra careful.
