I was curious about the pedal, but not curious enough to watch all 72 minutes of the video.in the video they do explain the differences
IMO they'd be better served by a teaser video; pique people's curiosity, then link to a deep-dive

Short version video …. I picked up a used Octavix a while back which sounds pretty much the same. Very nice on bass, and you don’t necessarily need the clean blend I’d say. Lets the bass end through as is, but clean blend is maybe nice for holding down the rhythm better.
Why?
that poor dead horse…
recommend you take to google…there is PLENTY to read about it. Make your own decisions on how you feel, but let’s not go down the rabbit hole of why some people are turned off and if they should or should not be.
combining into a new design........also where have you heard this i havent, and every pedal cant be a brand new design so many clones thee daysWhat I don’t like about this is that EHX puts it on their website as an “original circuit design by Josh”. The design part apparently consisted of combining two existing classic DIY circuits. I always like the concept of giving credit where credit is due, but this is clearly not a common thing for the pedal business. Luckily there are quite a few people around that trace new hyped pedals to reveal what they are based on.

if the designs are given away freely do you have evidence that josh even saw them maybe they were in another pedal he owns and hes tweaked things....
sadly josh gets alot of undue hate.
can we just argee the pedal sound great
No, I am not saying that. I am saying that "original design" would be an exaggeration of the facts (if these are indeed the facts; I have not seen the pedal myself, so I have to go by what other fora are stating). I am also saying that I would have applauded if credit to the original two circuit designs was given. Are you saying that there is no design involved in combining two existing designs?
Maybe being a bit pedantic?
I honestly don't think it matters that much at all.
