New Epiphone basses

Looks like Epiphone had the idea in the works for some time.
Here's a link to a site that mentioned this bass last year. Note the 2016 emblem mentioned in the specs.
It didn't feature the two piece bridge set yet.

Obviously this was a Photoshop mockup (check the bridge with the string not even matching).

Agree. Even if they had scaled the batwing headstock down - just seems such a characteristic aspect of the instrument. One can see they were trying to address the balance concerns with both the shorted headstock and the longer upper horn; also agree, that could have been done more gracefully. Still, kudos to Epiphone on all of these.

On the plus side, with those differences, my original won't be so easily mistaken for a reissue ;)

I think the upper horn looks quite a bit better here than in the NAMM materials. Glad they ended up going with the separate bridge and tailpiece.

Nice, I suspect they'll sell a ton of these! FWIW, LA Music doesn't have any new details on the instruments, it's the same copy from the promo materials. The Masterbuilt Century acoustic is listed at $1083 USD,

They just build a cool variety of really well made instruments at an acceptably affordable price point. IMO a bit at or above a comparable Squier VM/CV or better Mexican/Japanese Fender perhaps? FWIW I think we're living in a period similar to what the the 80's Matsumoku etc period was. Where really well built, reasonably inexpensive instruments were being made but it took awhile for those of us raised on Brand Name instrument advertising to catch on and recognize them for the quality instruments that they are. IMO if you're looking for a great playing/great sounding reasonably priced bass now is a good time period to be in the market. If you're buying anyway.

Does anyone here have any inside information on these Embassy models?

These have really peaked my interest but I am still waiting on the official specs (scale length, nut width, neck profile, etc.)

OR Does anyone have a thought on the reliability of the July release date? I see so many of the new product launches drag on and would hate to pass up a deal on another bass if July is just an overly optimistic guess.

I was told by Sweetwater that the release date would likely be September
