New Epiphone basses

Just finished a pre order with Sweetwater for a cherry Embassy...so that one is mine..Ya'll can have the other ones

Just an FYI on my Embassy pre order...
Sweetwater sent an email yesterday stating that my order was "Out of stock for a few months" and asked if I was OK with the wait..which I am.
Is anyone else intending to pre order?

I'm going to wait until they actually arrive. I learned my lesson with the JC bass which was a looong time from announcement to delivery.

EDIT: UPDATE - I think these video links were removed. In the comments he mentions that Epiphone planned on posting the full vids on Wednesday 07/12/2017 so I can only assume that is related to why they went down.

Had a 60's Embassy(cherry) with the 2 T-Bird pickups at the same time I had a 63 TBird and a 64 TBird. The Embassy got sold off b/c it did not sound as good as the TB's. Here it is 40 years later and JC is about to run the same experiment but THIS TIME the Embassy will get modded(add preamp/EQ and/or replace pickups with known-to-be-good 60's TB pickup clones) if it is "not as good as" the TB's.

The TB's will get modded if the pickups are "not up to JC standards".

I had a '67 Embassy too. I thought it sounded better than any of the old or new T birds i had played.(actually one of the best sounding basses i've owned,and i do miss it.)
I liked the layout better than a bird's,too,even though it was not a balanced bass design by any means. I'm really liking what i see with this new design,but not really expecting too much for $399.

If the Tbird Vintage is anything like the build quality of the Classic then it's definitely a bass worth the cash. It certainly looks great.

BTW that Embassy from certain angles... thought popped into my head that the extended top horn had a Rickenbacker vibe to it. Am I mad?

I don't see it particularly,but the cream/black Embassy does look a bit like my '74 4000.
