I don’t know what you’re pointing out with the Ticketmaster link, but if you look into it a little further, RATM are selling a huge number of tickets for their tour purely for charity. That’s why so many of them are so expensive - so they can donate the money from their richer fans to good causes.

I understand your need to slap the "trolling" label at the opposite opinion. It's a very popular and common practice nowadays. And given your obvious fondness for the guy/band, I'm not going to spend any grey matter to engage in the exercise in futility it would be to argue with you.

Oh for sure. Those basses look pretty sweet indeed. EBMM are just in a position to be able to ask for more and get it.
Well, it's only logical. MIA instruments are priced way higher than Chinese ones and there's a multitude of reasons for that. I don't have a problem with the bass itself or whatever it might cost. I wouldn't even consider buying it and, as many said, it isn't anything special apart from the name slapped on it.
I never seen anyone on TB complaining about the price of the Pino bass, or the Tony Franklin bass, for instance. Two P basses.

Unfortunately you are quite wrong regarding the bass. I have ordered a natural finish one, with black hardware and an Ebony board - it’s long scale, passive with an electronics package and developed in conjunction with the iconic bassist Tim Commerford based on what he likes and uses these days (as opposed to 30 years ago).
So where is this specification available anywhere else? AFAIK the passive electronics have only been available on the short scale bass, and natural ash only on the Joe Dart bass.
However I’m perfectly happy with my choice thanks, and am thankful that EBMM come up with variants of my favourite bass which sometimes appeal to me.
In terms of comparison, the ‘team built’ CS Pino Pecusion is a nice bass, far more expensive and frankly I don’t particularly like old and beaten up basses (each to their own). For me, the bass I’ve ordered is equally if not far better value for the use I’ll put it to.

Personally, I care very little (nothing, really) for Commerford or his specs so it wouldn't matter to me enough to shell out that kinda cash but other than that, if you find the ramp and the mutes useful, super happy for ya. No sarcasm. Other than that, only difference I see is a slight change in the radius, unless I'm missing something else.
As for the passive thing, I don't really think of that as an "upgrade" I'd be willing to pay for. 15 bucks and a soldering iron and anyone can turn their active stingray to passive.
I'm with you on the CS Palladino but I won't knock anyone for liking or buying it.
It boggles my mind how TB can have a clear rule like “No Politics” and time after time so many people think “Nah this doesn’t apply to me”.

I wish the sig models had more than just a plate on the back, any old special could wear that. It would seem more official if it were labeled like the EBMM on the headstock, something embedded on the headstock back, something different. Seems all rays are like that. I bet more folks would jump if the price was a standard 4H price, but I guess big biz is big biz.
Well, I bought one! I'm super excited to have an active short scale stingray, and then add in the string thru bridge, mutes, and ramp, sold! Sometimes you're willing to pay extra for what you want, and this checks the boxes for me. It will go nicely with my Starry Night passive short scale stingray. I'll spend $3k for this over the Joe Dart with zero features (I know it cost a little bit less...).
No data to back this up, but I’d guess that 1 or more these models will be regular releases like the Joe Dart long scale sig bass. Those were originally a limited release as well.
...and sometimes you have to Rage Against The Manufacturer, in an attempt to convince yourself you aren't just an embittered cheapskate.
