Double Bass NEW Euphonic Audio iAMP Doubler

Well in any case since my sister-in-law isn't a mail order bride I figured I'd pull back on the photo.

Back on topic, if you have the opportunity give the doubler a try it just sounds great. It does everything the AI head can do and it adds a little tone that many feel the AI stuff lacks....

When I was running my Focus I was constantly working on mixing in my AMT to really get the tone I was looking for. It was constant struggle between convenience and finding the most pleasing tone.

When I got the doubler I went through the initial honeymoon phase, running down into the basement and A/B every which way I could imagine. I've finally settled on the fact that I don't need the mic, piezo into the amp was just great.

I've gone as far as running my AMT through my Millennia TD1 preamp into pro tools and out to either my monitors or my power amp into the VL208 A/B'd that to the Doubler VL208 rig.

Ok.. I got doubler yesterday and loving it so far.

tones of useful options to deal with double bass and sounds really good with e. bass, too.

Also, this amp is super-quiet amp. I a/b with F1 and F1 was too hissy compared to doubler.

I will put it thru 4-5 gig this week and report back. But so far so good. I love the outlook of this amp, too. very clean look...

I am thinking about getting footswitch for this bass. Perhaps boss fs6 for muting and switching channel.

BTW, EA really need to make gigbag for this amp. I thought genz-benz gigbag would fit, but no. Anyone find good gig bag for this unit?

From what it sounds like they are working on a bag but don't have an ETA at this point. I ordered a custom bag from Mooridian, I think it was $120. I know a number of guys have gone to Target and Marshalls and found a small electronics bag that fit it well.

I keep my HPF set at the lowest setting and have not had a need to use it so far.

It's amazing how good this thing sounds with both DB and electric. The Focus just seemed to have the "suck" knob dialed to ten when you plug in an electric...

Mooradian made the bags for both my Walter Woods amps. They make a nice padded bag. I wonder if the dimensions Woods and The Doubler are so close in size that they discovered it fits both amps.

The Woods case is the closest in size but not exact....

Since they didn't have any Woods bags in stock and had to make one up for me they are going to just down size it slightly for a snug fit.

You'll like the bag its got a little heavier padding then some of the camera and video bags out there. Both of mine are over 10 years old and still in great shape considering they get a lot of use.

P.S. the old GK 200 MB bags were made by a diaper bag company. I guess you could use it for either task.

sweet, I ended up using a Igloo MaxCold lunch bag to hold my EA Micro Silver fits perfectly and it has a compartment for my cords, note pad and pen/pencil. I'll try to take a pic later.

OT point - I love how the new EA stuff looks like old stereo components

I received the case from Mooridian yesterday. Fits the Doubler perfectly pics will have to wait a few days.

Interesting to note the head is so darn small, the accessories pocket on the outside which is about 80% of the size of the entire case will just about fit the power cord, a 3' speakon cable and a 10' instrument cable.

I'm planning on throwing this right into my gig bag or stand bag, but it came with a very nice removable shoulder strap that is at least as heavy as the entire case.....

Beautifully made. Hopefully I can post some photos over the weekend...

Those are GREAT bags. I have most of my micro heads in the Mooradian bags. +1 on the size too. I love the large pocket (I can fit my extension cord, 10' power cable, and two 3' speakon speaker cables easily), but the pocket is as large as the amp case! This is a good thing!

Typically with larger heads I try to sneak in a tuner, maybe a XLR cable for the DI and even some back up cables. I will have to reorganize my bags for this other stuff.

The nice thing is for upright gigs this small bag will fit in my bass case and on electric gigs I usually carry a stand bag which this case will easily fit into.

DI's are so good on all these heads now IMO that I never carry one any more, and the XLR cable is the responsibility of whoever is running the PA in my situation. So, my logic is to keep everything associated with the 'head' in the Mooradian bag, and everything associated with the bass in the gig bag pocket for EB gigs.
