Whats the diff, Mexican made in Mexico or, Mexican made in USA?

For me, I just prefer the attention to detail of the USA P's, but I'd I played a Mexi and liked it, I wouldn't think twice about buying it.

Just wouldn't search one out. Or maybe I will. This is really speaking to me.

Dammit! I have this feeling in my stomach like when I first saw the modern player tele. Hopefully the Mexican factor will settle that feeling. Had a mexican P deluxe and hated it. If this winds up being korean or japanese made, I may very well be in trouble again.

Agreed. It's part of the Fender business model. They could certainly make higher end models in Mexico, but that would undermine their US production. Fender is an American icon just like Hofner is for Germany. Yet, if each company was to end production within thier native markets, and outsource all production to overseas workforces, it would likely hurt their brand and their overall sales. It's all about perceptions and politics. So with that said, we should probably not derail this thread with a political discussion.

Hard to tell from a photo like that. The "new" Jade Pearl Mettallic finish on the new 20112 MIA's in stock company photos looks more like a lighter version of their Charcoal frost with no trace of green in them, saw a pic that someone who has one posted, it looks more like the older Sage Green metallic. You really need to see it IRL.

Incidentally, the overt racism about Mexicans that keeps popping up here is really ugly. Fender's workers in America are no doubt either citizens or legal immigrants who contribute to the local California economy.

For me, it's not about a racism thing. I would be skeptical about it based strictly on price vs construction. If I'm gonna pay $750 for a MIM, I may as well go all out and save a bit longer for the MIA.

If I play one and it feels good, I don't care where it's made. But yeah, being MIM would stop me from actually searching out one.
