Fender sucks cause they just re-tread their Precision and Ja.... oh, what, this is basically made from scratch? Taking a few idea from other manufacturers and developing a whole new body, pickups, and pre? Well everyone's already had that!! Why don't they just stick to Precision and Jazz...

The nut widths work for me.

I wish they had done something different with the headstock and implemented a simpler string retaining solution. As it is, the 5-string reminds me of a kid wearing braces.

Having said that, I'm glad that they are at least trying something different and I hope to try one.

Is it much different to people giving other companies props for Yet_Another_Fender_Copy?

Seems weird how people rave about other people's takes on Fender designs, but when Fender do the same thing its suddenly a bad thing. The whole bass world revolves around the same old designs with minor tweaks here and there. If everyone was suddenly limited to only making genuinely innovative designs there'd be nothing left!

Who knows? Perhaps the combination of lighter tuners and the high-mass bridge will balance things out. I suppose we'll all see when they start working their way into the market. Until then, I'm reserving judgement.

My only criticism of the demo vid is that the drums are overpowering a lot of the bass riffs…and as someone who started off as a drummer, I fully realize the irony of that statement! :hmm:

Not feeling it personally.

Cons: Don't like the P neck width. If I wanted a more aggressive sound I'd go with a Stingray or g&l, those sound clips do not impress me.

Pros: I do like the aesthetics. I'm sure the resale is going to be better than a g&l.

I'm an older, somewhat traditional "old school" kinda guy......and I'd love to try one! I think it's great that Fender is trying to bring something new to the table. Even if I tried one and didn't care for it that doesn't mean it won't serve the next person well.

Thank you! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who notices this. Fender does this all too often with their bass videos. Simply put, it's annoying. The video should highlight the bass with a light drumbeat in the background for accompaniment.

On a separate note, I am eager to try these, especially the HH IV model!
