I just don't get why everyone is giving fender such props for doing something that's actually not that original or innovative, and has been around for a long time. They were slow on the draw (by decades) with this bass, and the only thing it's doing is giving people who exclusively play Fender access to tones that everyone else has been getting for years.

no active/passive switch, no series/parallel switches - no go...

Neck dive is going to be intense
According to Fender...
"An all-new original Fender body style with an elegant high-end look and remarkable comfort and balance."
Neck dive is going to be intense

Is it much different to people giving other companies props for Yet_Another_Fender_Copy?
Seems weird how people rave about other people's takes on Fender designs, but when Fender do the same thing its suddenly a bad thing. The whole bass world revolves around the same old designs with minor tweaks here and there. If everyone was suddenly limited to only making genuinely innovative designs there'd be nothing left!
My only criticism of the demo vid is that the drums are overpowering a lot of the bass riffs…and as someone who started off as a drummer, I fully realize the irony of that statement!![]()
Neck dive is going to be intense
Why should there be "intense neck dive"? The top strap pin looks to be located at fret 12 1/2, the headstock has a 4+1 machine arrangement, and it's a 34" scale length bass. Pretty standard stuff there.
