New Fender Dimension Bass

I cannot fathom why Fender gave the MP H version 5 different coil switching options and the Deluxe models have none. In the video of the MP, there are distinct tonal differences between the 5 different coil switch positions. Why the eff would they think a Deluxe player wouldn't want that?!?!

I also don't understand why they (apparently) don't offer any Series mode options on the MP switching. The specs don't say, but my guess from what the specs do say is that all 5 options are Parallel.

I've never played compound radius - probably has a lot to do with pricing.

The pickups look STRONG. Bet a lot of R&D went into them. $$$

Active electronics - there's no passive option, and all Fender passive versions are a touch cheaper.

Pricing makes sense to me... but I feel ya - I'd rip out all my pubes one at a time with tweezers for a passive HH for 11 or 1200.

Then never use Talkbass as a litmus test. The sample here is biased for sure.

Look at ANY thread, where people are discussing ANY kind of bass, Great or Not So Great...and the pile on for the negative happens within 10 posts...

Fender introduces a new bass...hooray for the Bass Community, more choices.

I just don't get why everyone is giving fender such props for doing something that's actually not that original or innovative, and has been around for a long time. They were slow on the draw (by decades) with this bass, and the only thing it's doing is giving people who exclusively play Fender access to tones that everyone else has been getting for years.
