I may be the first to mod one of these. I think it is a great design. I have been searching for another Roscoe Beck V as a backup but I may try one of these. Of course, I will have to open her up and install a passive option myself. I really dig it. This may be exactly what I have been looking for.

Things a love about it..........
-Oil finish on the neck! (I hate gloss)
- Asymmetric is very comfortable on basses I have played in the past
- Graphite rods = stiff
- Pickguard - new yet traditional
- Wheel truss rod adjust - easy
- String retainer all the way across.

Yep. This is pretty much a Two Fingers Signature model without the passive option. I may have to jump on one of these before the traditionalists force them to stop making it with their torches and pitchforks. Then, of course, I'll catch crap from many for doing mods on it too. Can't please everybody.

The truss rod wheel was a bold addition; if they are attempting at all to not piss off musicman.

Look up the 70s fender telecaster basses, that's where the guard comes from.

I like it and all. I really like the P bass neck but I know that its about 90% likely to get axed in a few years. Almost every bass fender comes out with that's not based on a P or J is axed in a few years. Thus I will buy one then.

I am generally one to look for a deal. But I don't see anyone offering up huge discounts on this anytime soon. Looks like I may buy my first new bass ever, and pretty much at MAP. Seems as though $1799.99 is what you will give for the American Deluxe V.

By the way, I can't believe we're this far into the thread and not one single person has bemoaned the lack of burst/tort options. Where are you guys?

When I first saw them I was turned off by their looks. Yet, after taking a closer look I like those. They remind me a bit of the Gibson Victory design which I like a lot. The cherry sb MIM Dimension looks especially cool to me.

I know. The darn thing is starting to grow on me. I do hate the pick guard.

Not feeling it personally.

Cons: Don't like the P neck width. If I wanted a more aggressive sound I'd go with a Stingray or g&l, those sound clips do not impress me.

Pros: I do like the aesthetics. I'm sure the resale is going to be better than a g&l.
