New from GHS: Pressurewound Bronze

OOOOOH YAAAAY! Finally! I've been waiting for these since I tried a prototype set! My favorite ABG strings of all time! Was starting to worry they'd never actually sell them! I'm PSYCHED! :D:bassist::hyper:

I'm hoping these are the real version of the prototypes I still have - I'll definitely be ordering a set to find out, and if they are (or are even better), I'll be ordering a bunch and doing some restringing. They're wonderful on fretless acoustic!

Jon at GHS confirms these are the product level descendants of the prototypes I have. Only 4 set is available, but there's a single B too for us 5ers. Already have an order in to Jason.

What's that fretless bass in the first half of the video?
I hadn't even noticed the video, thanks, yup, that's basically the sound of them! I think they really shine on fretless ABGs with piezo bridges. Really lets them sing with no harsh high squeaks and buzz of rounds.

I just heard back from Jason at BSO, they’re not out yet.
Yeah, the GHS ordering for them is just coming on line, some dealers could order last week, I think this week they should be orderable at most places. I basically emailed everyone asking when I could get a set. :)

No hurry! They need to be pretty close to work on the Balor. I suspect they do, that’s the usual way for acoustics.
Just checked - devilishly hard to get the bridge pins out on my Boulder Creek - but you should be fine - windings go all the way to the little wire loop around the ball end - slightly thicker near the ball, but I don't think the hole size on the Balor should be an issue - these aren't really huge gauge (wish they made them in heaver gauges actually). Just noodling around with it for a bit reminded me that I really do love these strings. YMMV. :D

Perfect - thank you for checking! Hopefully Jason will open up preorders soon, he said he’s waiting for pricing information first.
