I still don't like the headstock, but apparently it's a pretty easy fix to get it looking more Fenderish.

You said it! I just bought TWO SX 6 stringers and if this baby wasn't missing a string, I'd be having considerable GAS pains by now!

PS. I just bought the 5 string fretless neck Rondo is selling. While I'd prefer that it had natural wood on the fingerboard than the clear heavy coating, still, It's gonna make a killer accessory to switch my Ash body fretted SX to fretless and back. I'll install threaded inserts so the neck screws holes won't wear out with a number of changes.

Can't believe that a huge manufacturer would really have much of an upcharge to change the coordinates for the cutter on a CNC mill.
Looks like Rogue has the same version but with an active pre:

Noooo. I'm not trying to be picky, but the Rogue is a similar configuration, because of the pups, but not the same bass. Because:

1. That is not a J body
2. It has a 24 fret neck, with an angled headstock.
3. And as you already mentioned it is active

Similar pup config, but NOT the same bass.

That is one tasty looking bass. I need another Jazz bass like I need another double cheeseburger, but this is tempting. I don't know- it might just be me, but the headstock doesn't look as bad as it did when they first brought them out. Not that they were necessarily horrendous or anything, but at first I didn't care for them. Now, they're not that bad. At least it seems that way to me. A Jazz with block inlays is one thing I don't have....yet.

I'm with you! I've got a very nice Ibanez bass and I see that ash bodied, bound-and-blocked neck Jazz and seriously flirt with selling it to get one!

I liked the older headstock design more. But the bass itself is nice.

The rogue bass mentioned above had the same pup configs and an active preamp, but couldn't be intonated to save your life. The bridge was about a 1/2 inch too far forward.

I like the pup combo and have been thinking of trying it. But that P HH mod looks really cool too. Wish one could have the sounds of each to compare. Might just have to buy a cheap p/j and mod it....

Nice bass though.....payday on friday....hmmmmm

Remember though, SX do still make Stingray clones, so maybe thats why.

SX Spain has them, and their Irish dealers sell them too, I got mine locally.

As for getting one there, you might find one one eBay, of the f/s forum here.
