Double Bass New Gamut Red Diamond Gut Strings

Well Gents, greetings from the rabbit hole. Here are the RD's. It took just a small bit of filing on the nut to be certain of a fit. Pencil graphite on both the bridge and nut.
Still stretching but so far the pizz for each is great but different. Facing the corner of the room the D string is huge sounding with a deep cushion of bottom end. The D is always the best sounding of any set I've tried. The G is more mid-forward and penetrating. Arco is hideous right now.
Left to right it is S42W, Gamut Copper A, Red Diamond D&G. All four have that beautiful "thunk" on the front of the note, but all four of a different quality. I will give it a week or three to see if they blend better over time. Already thinking of a Pistoy A. Please convince me otherwise!

@PaperbackRyder could you compare the feel and tension / perceived stiffness of these strings to the more conventional lenzners?
Without a ton of time with them so far, I can say that the Lenzers are thinner, more supple feeling and bowable. The RD's are fat bastards and the nylon wrap feels "harder", but they are actually pretty flexible and very easy to play pizz. The RD's are more powerful sounding than the Lenzers to me. I have raised the bridge one full turn so far.
FWIW I have not tried to plug into my amp yet (Full Circle and Aguilar TH750) and had not tried the Lenzers either before replacing them with the RD's.

@PaperbackRyder I would love to hear a recording of these!

This recording is a complete red diamond set well broken in. In fact the wound strings failed not long after this and I'm still in the rabbit hole on replacing them both. The vid below is the same bass and strings pizz, they were quite new at the time of recording...

I'd be interested to hear a recording with that E string...

If anyone has some RD g and d strings they would like to sell please PM me. Might aswell go down the string rabbit hole whilst in lockdown!
Just ordered a G and D to go with my Spiro E and Perm A. Since I don't have a gig for the rest of my life this seems like a good time to get the gut thing out of my system once and for all. I'll let you know how it goes.

I hope it only SEEMS that way. But I know how you feel.
