Double Bass New Gamut Red Diamond Gut Strings

Presto Nylonwounds are sold in the USA as Eurosonics. They are the first DB strings made by that manufacturer in Poland (maybe there have been arco strings that probably have not been popular in Poland before).
All other Presto strings were developed by Jonas Lohse in Germany for this polish company where the production takes place.

All Presto/Eurosonic DB strings have a steel core (whereas Innovation strings all have a synthetic core).

Yes, good point! SilverSlaps are low tension, in fact they (and GoldenSlaps) are Innovation's lowest tension strings. And I would estimate that the Eurosonics that I played were if anything only slightly higher tension, very comparable gauges to the SilverSlaps, so probably the Eurosonics (a complete set) were lights.

I really liked the feel of the metal core Eurosonics, and consider them a nice possible alternative to the synthetic SilverSlaps, although I do prefer the tone of synthetics for my Alcoa.

Silver Slaps are close to Efrano Medium guts (Elite: two naked, two wound) in tension (about 19 to 24 kp top to bottom). Presto Nylonwounds should be in my excel file because the tension was published by the manufacturer.

Well here goes nothing...I ordered a Red Diamond D&G from the String Emporium last night. Impulse buy.
Will see how those monsters do on my bass. I have S42 W on the bottom now. Also have Mittels, Anima E/A, a Gamut wound A and some synthetic sets as well. Keep me occupied while housebound.
This is exactly what I am thinking of. Got free time to experiment. Please keep us posted on your experience.

I'm so glad i don't have a ton of money cuz one thing i thought about was this being a perfect time to try eudoxas or some other expensive string lol.

Wow, Sam. You really are a glass-half-full sort of guy, aren't you? I'm impressed.

Well "in preparation" for the RD's (or just bored), I put on an old set on Lenzers I recently picked up. Filthy and worn but a very good deal. Kept the Weich E on and installed the Lenzer wound A, plain D & G. I like 'em! But every new set is the best ever for at least a few days. Gotta let these settle in for a while or at least until the RD's arrive. But by then the bass will have adapted.

I'm curious about these also. One question, can you let us know when installing them if you have any issues at the nut? I'm currently using Perps, like them but would be interested in trying the RDs on top - but not sure that I want to have to widen the nut slots to accommodate the RDs.

you'd have to greatly widen them. Red dimonds are massave, the D is bigger than a spiro light E
