Wouldn't surprise me if they'd gone back to refine (and maybe condense) before release. It seemed to me like there was a good bit of confusion in the general public about the alleged versions when announced, specifically the different preamps, which also engendered some definite fear of missing out.

If memory serves me right, it took awhile for the PLEX to finally become available. Also my local independent music store told me that in order for them to carry GK amps they would have to stock Lakland basses as well. And that they just couldn’t take on another line. Has anyone experienced this, or heard of it?

I've never heard anything about the companies being related but I'm wrong a lot of the time.

Yeah, I was thinking about buying a PLEX and I was going to see what kind of deal I could get on one. I had previously bought a MB112II from them a couple of years ago. After checking with their distributor that’s when they told they couldn’t get GK amps anymore because they didn’t carry Lakland basses. The dealer was as surprised as I was.

Yes. What I heard was the Fusion Plus. It sounded great. Full and articulate. But NAMM demos, well they’re not ideal. The Fusion Plus and Fusion are the continuation of the MBF series, with the Plus adding a tube compressor.

The Gk rep in the booth told me the 800 legacy tone is modeled after the 800rb. I messed around on it for about 10 mins and from what my ears remember of a 800rb tone the legacy was extremely close. I'm pretty sure I'll be picking one up.

They had much more to show this year. Last year they had one prototype — what is now called the Fusion Plus. This year, there were the four models. Last year they were estimating delivery, which turned out to be hopeful. Seems they went back and re-thought a couple things. This year, GK said the Legacy will ship in April, and the other three will follow in subsequent releases.

You’ll get it, but it will come with a 500, 800 or 1200 watt power amp. The Plex amp is 100% the flex pedal as the front end. All the new amps are rack mountable.
