K. So at least one of them is digital. Not that digital can't be good, but this is an interesting new direction for GK.

My interest and excitement have long abated, and I mentally moved on a long time ago. But if they ever get these off the ground and I run across one....I'd like to see what they've been working on all this time!

I think there is a strong chance they will just use the 800RB model from the plex.

In general people have been positive about the tone of the PLEX.

A couple of detractors. Such is the way with EVERY digital modeller though.

The MBF with and without tube comp in more and bigger sizes
A remake of the RB800 but lighter and presumably Class D
The Plex pedal attached to an amp

I've been interested in getting a Plex pedal for a while but kept putting it off.

Now that it comes as an amp, I'm going to wait until that's available. I'm assuming the OD and whatnot is going to be footswitchable... if that is indeed the case, I can literally leave my pedalboard at home for 60-70% of my gigs. Comp/OD/Tuner are the 3 pedals I always need. If it's super small and light as well, it looks like I've found my new main gigging amp!

I thought one could just look at the pics.

The Legacy has a variable trim, overdrive with drive, level and edge controls, bass bump and presence, and no bi-amp. The Fusion has variable trim, high cut, bass bump, overdrive with drive, level and body controls, and a tube compressor in the Plus version. Also, there are 1,200 watt versions. And I have heard (but cannot confirm) these will be 2-ohm capable.

If you don’t want to call these new, that’s fine with me.

Well, the Fusion and Fusion + heads have tube preamps (3 and 4 12AX7's, respectively), so no, they are not all digital front ends. Not sure about the Legacy, but my presumption was that it was solid state.

It'll be interesting to see how this strategy of releasing so many products almost at once will turn out for them. Feels a bit overwhelming but I'm looking forward to give them a run when they hit Germany.

I’m not happy!! I don’t like amps now compared to the way they used to be!! In my day they were big - ginormous even, huge and heavy. They felt manly. Made from real metal. And if you happened to drop one on your toe, it about cut the darned thing off! It was painful as hell but we liked it - they weighed as much as a small pickup truck but we loved it!! Flibberdy flew!!! Bah, get off my lawn!

That said, I’m gassing for a Fusion 550. Anyone care to straight trade for my Ampeg pre I have in the classifieds? Beuller?
