Interesting that GK released the new Legacy RB1001 and 2001. It’ll be more interesting to see if they sell any! 1001 weighs in at 26 lbs?!?!

Is that saposed to be heavy?Interesting that GK released the new Legacy RB1001 and 2001. It’ll be more interesting to see if they sell any! 1001 weighs in at 26 lbs?!?!
original weighed 22. either way .. its still light . most cabs weigh more than thatInteresting that GK released the new Legacy RB1001 and 2001. It’ll be more interesting to see if they sell any! 1001 weighs in at 26 lbs?!?!
I think these were needed in the lineup. If you look at the rigs of most touring acts, they are running class H or analogous equipment.
It’s durable, powerful and repairable.
I'm surprised by the specs of the 2 models:Also, no other amp in the GK lineup can do what the 2001 does. It’s essentially a stadium amp.
I haven’t heard of a single amp on the road that is Class H. Maybe I’m living under a rock?I think these were needed in the lineup. If you look at the rigs of most touring acts, they are running class H or analogous equipment. It’s durable, powerful and repairable.

When you put it against any of the Mesa Subway series, Aguilar TH and AG etc….its HEAVY.original weighed 22. either way .. its still light . most cabs weigh more than that
ALL of THIS!!! ^^^^I thought most touring acts are now using class D, including PA systems. What example of class H equipment is used in today's touring acts? And why?
I thought class D was also durable, powerful and repairable?
I'm surprised by the specs of the 2 models:
- 1001 RB: 300 W @ 8ohms / 400 W @ 4ohms / 600 W @ 2 ohms
That's half of the power of most class D amps, and about 3 times heavier
- 2001 RB Bridged: 800 W @ 8 ohms / 1200 W @ 4ohms
When would you use that since most 8 ohms cabs are limited to 300W or less?
- 2001 RB Dual mono: per channel 300 W @ 8ohms / 400 W @ 4 ohms / 600 W @ 2 ohms
It makes more sense with walls of cabs in a stadium, but don't people use PA systems at that point?
Anyone playing stadiums is relying heavily on the PA and doesn’t need that kind of stage volume.I think these were needed in the lineup. If you look at the rigs of most touring acts, they are running class H or analogous equipment. It’s durable, powerful and repairable.

Yeah, that's the point. When you put it against any of the Mesa Subway series, Aguilar TH and AG etc….its HEAVY.
Let’s be realistic, 97% or more of the bass playing community is carrying around their own gear without roadies.
I can achieve every tonal goal I need with my Mesa TT800, D800+ or even a Quilter 803 BB at 1/5 the weight.
I happen to be one of those people that "couldn't find a good sounding lightweight amp".Yeah, that's the point.
If you couldn't find a good sounding lightweight amp, and this one sounds incredibly better, I can understand that people would prefer a heavy but better sounding amp.
But since there are so many amps available today that sound great and weight nothing, why bother?

Where the link? How are we supposed to gas for something if there’s no pictures?![]()
The original rb series are class H. Along with QSC PLX amps.I haven’t heard of a single amp on the road that is Class H. Maybe I’m living under a rock?
