I'm, excited about this little gizmo. Finally a bass pedal/preamp that is actually designed for a bass player and not a poser. This thing has everything I would want in a unit like this. I wonder if the XLR is transformer balanced or not. I have had some issues lately with eletronicaly balanced DIs. I doubt at that price it has a transformer but it would be nice if it did. You can count me in for one of these.

bump. This is of critical importance with respect to the XLR feed to the mains FOH and monitoring systems. IMHO, if the PLEX is going to have cabinet emulation of any kind, I think it would be helpful to know what it is based on, and what the CABINET knob actually does. Is it a mix/blend feature (0 = no cabinet, 10 = all cabinet)? Or does it allow for different variations with respect to the cabinet emulation (cabinet/speaker size, proximity, etc.)?

This is a key feature for me, so apologies for impatiently harping on this detail. Thanks in advance for any answers or insight. Anyone audition this pedal via full range (PA) system, rather than bass cabinet?

Smart looking product design. I've never purchased a GK product before (played through plenty of RB series rentals though) - this might be the first. Nice all-in-one fly date solution!

Looks really nice, the only recommendation would be to change the USB port to USB-C, those mini USB are pain to work with.

I too believe it's early, but there seems to be some PC company's already supporting it. Following is a quote from a PC Gamer article written June 10, 2015 about motherboards at Computex:
"...Asus, Asrock, Biostar, MSI, and Gigabyte all had at least one Z170 motherboard model with a USB 3.1 Type-C port..."

USB is for recording (it acts like a USB sound-card) and reamping (DAW sends audio by USB to the PLEX, audio is processed by the PLEX, audio goes back into the DAW by USB)

I wonder if there is some company/product connection?

Well, here's Fishman's Bass (or guitar) preamp/DI. Question for Fishman: you already implement digital impulse "image" technology with the Aura, so why not continue by adding mic'd cabinet "images" for bass and guitar on this device? It would be KILLER! Missed opportunity IMHO.

up to +6dbV...appears to be line level, so should work, no? (screen shot from the Fishman preamp manual)

Not sure of the specs for the GK MBP speakers.

It will require a pretty high level balanced drive which will be available on the revised combos. A typical DI may not provide a truely balanced signal and the level may not be high enough.

The MBP is designed to work with our MB combos. We do not recommend any other use. If you want to use another source you will need +10dBu true balanced and you will not have a limiter.
