New Head: Valkyrie from Baer Amps... Thoughts?

I've been able to check out some of the newest incarnations of Roger's speaker boxes. We've been checking them out with other amps just to get an idea of what they sound like with amps other than his. I've wanted to do this because it seems his amp could make a turd sound good, let alone his own speakers. The amp is a delight, and the speakers are working well with most every amp I've heard them with.

Roger has spent a lot of time in order to do it right. It looks like time well spent. I think this gear could to very well. The single 12 box might be one of the best boxes around for guys who need a box to work equally well at low and high volumes. (high volume for a single 12 box)

Thanks for keeping the interest going on the VALKYRIE. I don't want to promise any time frames at this point, but final manufacturing prototypes are being worked on. Once those are signed off on, we should be able to look at taking some pre-orders. In all honesty, anyone needing an amp right away and hanging on for a VALKYRIE should consider other options, as I would guess we are still a few months from shipping units.

I'll get some pics of the amp up as soon as the final manufacturing proto is complete.

As for Jimmy's question, I can't say I am an expert by any means, but I am convinced they sound way better powered by a nice, heavy transformer. I am sure Ken will have a different opinion, but that's mine and I'm sticking to it! (...really hoping this topic dies here and doesn't go on for the next 20 pages )

I don't know...updates have been few and far in-between except for the stock "We're working on it" replies. Hopefully, these products don't turn out to be the "Duke Nukem Forever" of bass amplification products.

Honestly, I just felt it best to keep post to a minimum unless we have some real news, but I will try and give updates every now and then if people are interested and ask for it. I just don't want it to seem like self promotion by posting on every little step of what is a very long process. We really are "working on it" and we're making good progress on completing the final manufacturing prototypes for the VALKYRIE. We just tested and signed off on the final power modules, which took a little extra work, as I was really set on hitting 900watts @2ohms. Final pre amp and power supply boards are done and we are waiting on our output transformers and chassis to be completed. After we test and sign off on the manufacturing prototypes, we will be very close to being able to take pre orders for the first run.

Regarding the cabinets, after NAMM I really felt that there was room to go back into the cabinet designs and make some improvements and I think that decision is paying off with punchier, more articulate sounding cabs. That said, the recent developments in neo drivers has left the speaker line up with a very questionable future. With driver prices being quoted on a daily basis and no promises on delivery dates, it is making it difficult to come up with any kind of manufacturing plan with regards these cabinets. We are attempting to secure enough drivers for a couple of runs, but after that, who knows. There's just no way of knowing if our suppliers will even be offering neo drivers 6 months from now, which is a very real possibility. For now, we will continue to work on getting the first run of cabs out there and we will do what we can to keep the cost as reasonable as possible.

Getting a product of this nature to market has been more work than I ever imagined and I really want to thank everyone for their continued interest in the products and the amazing amount of support everyone has shown towards what we are doing.

FWIW, I respect occasional posts saying "we're working on it, no ETA promised", as that is realistic and honest. Some other brand owners have been known for going to either one extreme ("the product is shipping tomorrow!") or the other (dead silence), neither of which is helpful to consumers. So keep on truckin' the way you have been.
