New Ibanez (headless, multiscale)

Really great video and playing. I enjoy your channel :bassist:

I really agree with a lot of the points you make, especially about the key difference between the 1005/1505MS coming down to the pickups.

When I went to the shop on “launch day” here and compared the two side by side, I really made my decision based on the sound of the pickups and ever so slightly the weight of the body wood.

At no point did the top wood, basswood vs. mahogany or maple vs. panga panga factor in. I generally prefer maple, too and really like the sea foam green finish.

If Ibanez made an in between, say, 1205MS that was the same as the 1005MS but with the Nordstrand pickups, I would probably trade in my 1505MS.

Thank you :)

I agree about an in between model totally stealing the show. I really hope they expand the model lineup.

Here's my latest video taking a closer look at my EHB1005MS and my opinions after a month of ownership. Enjoy!

I have the EHB1505 (Dragon Eye Burst) and have the EHB1000 on order, but if Ibanez had more choices for finish for the normal fret EHB1000 series, I would have bought the cheaper EHB1000/1005 models instead--especially with that beautiful Sea Foam Green Matte finish like on yours. But the EHB1005 only comes in black, and I don't like how the black hardware just blends together with it. I prefer having a bit of contrast, and also I guess I wanted a bit more differentiation between the two EHB models I'll have, so I went for the EHB1505 instead. And I got about $500 total discount off of the two EHB basses I ordered, so my EHB1505 came out to be around the same price as the EHB1005MS, which is a great bargain

I received this update from my sales engineer at Sweetwater today regarding my EHB1000 order: "Do to all the recent COVID19 related issues, it has severely impacted Ibanez and their manufacturing. We're not expecting to get those basses in stock until June."
My sales engineer said they weren’t showing delays for my order as of last week, but that it was subject to change. It sounds like possibly a small order leaked out ahead of the pandemic.

You're the first person on the web I know of that's gotten their EHB1000. All the other models have had people post photos and videos about them, and this is the last one. Mine's been delayed until June, so I still have a while to wait. I would love to see/hear your thoughts on the bass. Will you be posting a review? Video?

Don't know how I missed these. This guy posted a video in February with an EHB1506 in it:

There's a couple other videos of it on his channel. Looks like he might have had early access to one though, same as the first instagram clip we saw.
Same here. I've been searching YouTube for months for any EHB related videos, and I've never seen that one.
