Hi guys, I just took the plunge and bought a G30. It worked great at home.
Took it on the gig and had some problems. As I was moving around more, it was clipping out. Eventually I noticed that any time I or the bass touched the battery case, the red light would go on and I would lose the signal. I would then turn off the transmitter and it would come back until something touched the unit or the battery case. All in all, it probably went out about 10 times.
This is a major problem. I bought a wireless so I could move around and jump. Obviously, this means that at some point the transmitter gets touched and stops. I was wondering if you guys had the same problem...does it stop transmitting if you touch it? Thanks!

That seems strange. Seems like faulty unit...
I have used mine for several worldwide tours the last couple of years, and NEVER had a single problem with it what so ever.

I brought the unit home after the gig and it did the same thing. No matter what channel it was on. Just touching the battery compartment caused it to flash red and turn off.
I was using the alkaline batteries that came with the unit. So I changed the battery and voila, no issues. I can tap as much as I want, there is no problem.
I wonder if the cheap batteries just ran out...still, there is no way I used those batteries for 8 hours. I used it twice at home, for maybe a total of 2 hours, top.
Also, when I used it on the gig with the first batteries, the battery light wasn't shining red. But as soon as I touch the compartment, it flashed red and didn't transmit. I had to turn it off and on to get it to work. If it was that the batteries ran out, wouldn't they just no work at all? I would guess that you can definitely get more than 2 hours of quality work out of a set of new batteries...people seem to change them after every four hour gig, no?
I'm thinking that maybe the first set of batteries did not sit well in the compartment for some reason. So touching the compartment resulted in them losing connection. I can't really think of anything else.
I have another question: when you turn off the transmitter, the unit turns off, right? Even if the cable is still in the unit, the battery isn't draining, right?
Also, the quarter inch wire that comes with the unit, I guess it can be replaced by any other wire if something goes wrong with it? There is nothing special about this wire, I assume...
Anyways, thanks to you two guys who wrote in, I really appreciate it! I wanted to write back too, in order to relate what happened. If you guys have any ideas different from mine, please let me know.
