hi all,
i'm fairly new to TB and have been posting a little.i have a 1980 Ibanez blazer, which i've had from new. i'm Brett 42. been playing bass since i was 17 and played in a couple of bands until i was 22. i stopped playing seriously when i got married, started a family and started a career as a paramedic. i picked up the bass again recently and have been using this site for advice and guidance. i have a dream to retire from the service in the next few years when i hope to put more into my playing, form a new band of grey haired wrinklies and play blues and jazz for a living.

My name is Steve and I am just a baby among bassists here. I am taking lessons, I can play 2 scales and some triads. I hope it becomes more interesting soon.
If you hang around HC at all, you probably recognize my screen name. I mod the Electric Guitars and Guitar Jam forums. I play and teach guitar/bass for a living. I've recently been focusing more on my bass playing, so I figured I might as well sign up here.
I've HAD a bass for 25 years or so, and at one time, I was good enough to jam in some kid's garage. I set it aside in favor of sculpture, travel, computers, and having some kids.
Now the kids are old enough to jam in their own garage, and I'm willing to try to hold up the low end, but I gotta learn how (at long last).
I hope I'm not pushing my kids too hard to be my band, but I've always loved bass, and I've always wanted to have somebody to play with on a regular basis.
Hey, I PAID for those kids, and they oughta be good for SOMETHING, right?

I'm Aaron. I've been a member since February, but didn't visit much until the past few days.
I've been playing bass every now and then for 3mths, but just recently every day. I've been playing guitar for somewhere around 5yrs and I suck at it, lol. I've been playing drums since last May I suck at them too, lol. I guess the longer you play the better you get, or so I hope.
I have a Fender Standard P-bass, however, I do not have an amp as of yet. I want to get one, its just a matter of finding the money to do so.
Always on the lookout for people who want to start a band, even though I doubt I could hold my own.

Hello, most people just call me Dee... I'm 40 years old.
I started playing bass when I was 13, quit playing when I was 20, and just decided to play seriously again about 2 years ago. The bass I'm playing on now is the Peavey Grind 4 NTB, I'm currently looking to buy a 5 string, maybe a Toby Pro.
I'm mostly in to funk and jazz, and anything that I can come up with that sounds ok.

Hi. I'm 30ish, been playing bass since I was 14, and occasionally even get paid for it (whatta concept!) I play for a small recording studio (and a rock band) in Alameda, Ca, and as such have access to more gear than I actually own, but the stuff with my name on the receipt is:

A bunch of other guitar stuff because I play baritone in a metal band, but nobody here cares about that.
I stumbled on this site while searching for upright bass bridge help, and was impressed with the polite posting, knowledgeable players, and tolerance of new guys. This place is great, and now I too know the joys of yakking and reading about bass, bass, bass, when I can't get my hands on one!
