I thought it was some new high tech damping systemI gather it’s to reduce the chance of the slight discoloration the rubber feet can sometimes leave on tolex. I used a tool chest liner sheet.

I am so glad you are loving this head. I may need to splurge on one of these sometime soon. I love my D-800 but... dang. So much more is possible!Bovine Excrement!
Damn Mesa!
This is not right!

First time out of the box and this amp, sounds amazing!

I have not been happy with most tube preamp deals until now.
I can cop a nasty B15 tone or any goofy tone that I normally use.
I knew that the HPF would be good but, that damping thang is the shizzle.
To me, it helps bring that old skool tube feel with the HPF.
The mid-cut with the make-up gain is a nice touch also.
And again, I like the looks of this as well
Oh and this amp just renew my faith in class D amps as far as feel
and response
All in all, it's...

Next on the list of things to do is, go to the local Mesa dealer and take my head (as they won't have one for months) and check out some Subway cabs
more like a low tech damping system. I love my WD-800 but as I use it/gig it constantly I just don't have a meaningful use for those felt pads. They are the kind of thing that will get lost in a blink of an eye.I thought it was some new high tech damping system![]()

a little package of 4 felt pads comes with every new WD-800 and (I think) D-800+. I don't know if D800 amps get the same. What pads?

yeah, mine are around here somewhere too, but I never even took them out of the little zip lock bag because I know they would end up in a pool of beer on some club floor somewhere in N California.Kiddin' as I was the one that asked about them originally
You said they get lost in a blink of an eye. I said what pads as if they're lost already
Yeah, I saw them today as I opened up my new head. A little zip lock baggie with them and a card
that said to put 'em under the feet of the amp![]()
Is that a picture of one of the Glimmer Twins?
