New Model Rickenbacker Bass!?!

Can anyone confirm that this is actually a model in the pipeline and what the specs are? If its a short scale semi-hollow, I am interested!
Ben posted the same picture to his own instagram account with this caption:
Meet the 3030! Just a fun side project we had been kicking around for a few years. Same 24 3/4 scale as the 330. Will come with flat wounds because they make this bass really sing. Details soon.

It's definitely the exact same body and neck as the 330, just set up for four thick strings instead of 6 thinner strings

This is from late August 2006.

That Amber Honeyglo dot 4002 is an absolute darling!! Ebony board, or Richlite?
Richlite.
I don’t know for sure, but I imagine it’s Richlite. RIC Has been using that a lot in recent years.
And it really looks fantastic on every instrument I’ve seen it used on. This AH 4002 is stunning 😍
+1

For anyone interested, information about ALL of the Factory Special 4002 models built since 2013 can be found here:

It is literally a 330 guitar body and neck so 24 3/4 scale. The only difference is it has four (flatwound) strings. Hope to start building in quantity this summer.
Who will be selling them and how soon can I get on the waiting list? Please?? Pretty please??? Oh, and if you could, how about a 4030 fretless?

Could it be modded to move the bridge closer to the edge to increase the scale length?
then just remove the frets and have a nice semi-hol

WOW, Ben! A super shorty!

Does anyone have any idea of what Rickenbacker will use for a model designation? 3030W? 3330W? just guessing here. but I sure do like the looks of it in Walnut. my biggest questions are will it be available in a fretless (almost 100% sure NO!) and what choices of strings will be available?

Ben Hall said that it will ship with flatwound strings, but I don't recall if he mentioned the gauges.

The model bumber will be 3030, I imagine the W will only be added to the walnut bodied models.
