Ben posted the same picture to his own instagram account with this caption:Can anyone confirm that this is actually a model in the pipeline and what the specs are? If its a short scale semi-hollow, I am interested!
Meet the 3030! Just a fun side project we had been kicking around for a few years. Same 24 3/4 scale as the 330. Will come with flat wounds because they make this bass really sing. Details soon.
Someone has to compete with Gibson in their race to the bottomthis is the truth.
Rickenbacker are their own worst enemy.
lolWell, at least it doesn't have those weird door-stop pickups.
Looks are very important.lol
like that actually matters
It is literally a 330 guitar body and neck so 24 3/4 scale. The only difference is it has four (flatwound) strings. Hope to start building in quantity this summer. Can anyone confirm that this is actually a model in the pipeline and what the specs are? If its a short scale semi-hollow, I am interested!
Could it be modded to move the bridge closer to the edge to increase the scale length? It is literally a 330 guitar body and neck so 24 3/4 scale. The only difference is it has four (flatwound) strings. Hope to start building in quantity this summer.

Richlite. That Amber Honeyglo dot 4002 is an absolute darling!! Ebony board, or Richlite?
+1I don’t know for sure, but I imagine it’s Richlite. RIC Has been using that a lot in recent years.
And it really looks fantastic on every instrument I’ve seen it used on. This AH 4002 is stunning![]()
I only see three, what am i missing? lolRick's- four kinds of posts here:
1. They have decended from heaven, and are the coolest basses ever.
2. They are overpriced and have criminally lousy QC. The copies are better.
3. Their business model sucks- they need to come up with a cheap model so I have have one.
Who will be selling them and how soon can I get on the waiting list? Please?? Pretty please??? Oh, and if you could, how about a 4030 fretless? It is literally a 330 guitar body and neck so 24 3/4 scale. The only difference is it has four (flatwound) strings. Sorry, I combined 2 and 4.I only see three, what am i missing? lol
The fourth one is warning about how difficult the double trussrod system is to adjust and how you're better off taking it to a professionalI only see three, what am i missing? lol
Could it be modded to move the bridge closer to the edge to increase the scale length?
then just remove the frets and have a nice semi-hol
Does anyone have any idea of what Rickenbacker will use for a model designation? 3030W? 3330W? just guessing here. but I sure do like the looks of it in Walnut. my biggest questions are will it be available in a fretless (almost 100% sure NO!) and what choices of strings will be available?WOW, Ben! A super shorty!

Ben Hall said that it will ship with flatwound strings, but I don't recall if he mentioned the gauges.Does anyone have any idea of what Rickenbacker will use for a model designation? 3030W? 3330W? just guessing here. but I sure do like the looks of it in Walnut. my biggest questions are will it be available in a fretless (almost 100% sure NO!) and what choices of strings will be available?
