New Origin Effects DCX Bass

Enjoy the pedal! :)
Seeing the DCXBass on your 2024 board video as a Noble replacement inspired me to take mine for another spin.

Terrific in front of my Two Notes ReVolt!
Mode EQ, Voice Med, Level shy of max, Drive off, HF noon, LF boosted.

I don't know what's inside this pedal, but it seemed to add some resonant transformer flavor, and did what my Jive once did, but better, emphasizing wide saturation and articulation over distortion and gain. The effect of the HF and LF knobs is sweet and gradual.

Glad to hear :)
we’re starting our tour tonight, so I’ll report back after this first weekend with some impressions/thoughts.
The bass is sounding great through my IEMs though

I agree that the DCX stacks well with other preamps. I am currently running mine in front of a Mesa Subway DI-Pre and am very happy with my tone. I always use EQ mode and there's plenty of drive for my needs. I opted for the black version but ordered a set of grey replacement knobs from OE. The set-up shown here is for silent home practice, but for gigs and rehearsals, I typically remove the Rolls and add a Cali-76 or Empress ParaEQ MKII Deluxe to the board for additional filtering/tweaking. The board is a PT Nano+ and everything is powered by a Cioks Sol mounted underneath.

Have to say my DCX Bass arrived about a week ago or so now, and it is great. One thing I did notice, si that Iw as testing it initially and really impressed with the sound, minus the Cali76, I didn't realise it wasn't on to be honest. It was just the DCX and a BassRig. After I put the Cali76 back on the sound wasn't as good, I did have to tweak the compressor to get that great sound again. Now i'm limiting the compressor a lot more, and finding I am happier with the sound. So far just using the EQ side primarily.

I don't think anyone should be too disappointed in this pedal, it really is great.

Hi,

I sold all may pedals (including my REDDI)
The only pedal I didn’t sold is my origin SV.
First I thought to buy a line 6 hx, but I am an analog guy.

so I have to fill my Pedalboard again.
I want an overdrive and a octave pedal first.

which one should I get? Haylcon or DCX?

i have both and i'd recommend the DCX-Bass

The more time I spend on the Origin Effects website, the more I discover new things: this video brought things to my attention about the DCX I do not think I had discovered/heard or read about... Complex, nerdy details about how the LF and HF knobs work - I dig it (I realize it is not the DCX bass that is used here, but... we know that the difference between the two pedals is limited to some frequencies only):

....

Do you have the comp BEFORE or AFTER the DCX?

hello
I'm using the BPA-1 as a pre and comp and was in need of a drive, so I heard the DCX and loved it.

I don't have any other pre or comps apart from the BPA-1, so I was wondering if the DCX could be used on its own?

And if I buy another pre in the future, like a Bassrig or tonehammer or BP-1, will it be compatible with them?
