New Sire P Basses!

Wow, this is perfect. I'm seriously considering a TMB605, a Sire P/V7, and a Yamaha BB425X. Can you give me a bit of a comparison between the three? I know they're all 5ers, but I'm assuming the character traits transfer.
Has anyone changed the bridge on a Sire 5? I was thinking of putting a Kickass or another bridge with adjustable string spacing to try and get as close to 19mm as possible. If so, please give me details, thanks.

The Hipshot A Style bass bridge .708 is one of the very few for replacement on a Sire 5er.
I have change the bridge on my V7-5 to a Sandberg-5 bridge. The Sandberg-5 is 18.5 mm spacing, adjustable by ± 0.5 mm, i.e. from 18 mm to 19 mm. A really beautiful bridge.
That's a good looking bridge! Did all the screw holes and through body holes align? And, what's the price on it? Thanks
The Sandberg-5 bridge has no through body holes (*) and you have to drill new screw holes in the body to the required spacing and location to fit the bridge. It's in solid brass (I think it's machined from one piece of metal) and the price is 49.50 euros (in Germany) at Invalid Link Removed.
(*) you need to be very careful when drilling the string holes in the Sandberg bridge - because of the bridge design, they are in a rather tricky position. I have drilled them on mine, and even so, I have my V7 strung through the bridge.
The Hipshot bridge exists in various spacings (of which 18 mm and 19 mm), materials and plating colors. It has screw holes AND through body holes (I don't know how these fit on the V7 body). The brass version is pricey.

I have not decided if the first one should be a P or a J type. These basses seem to be the best of both types.
Do you think these new Sire basses are a good option for beginners?

Hello. The V7s and P7s all get mostly great reviews for playability. Mine plays smooth and easy - after a set up. Playability is important for most beginners (and most everyone else). The P7 is not a P bass, it is a PJ bass - it has a p bass neck pickup and a J bass bridge pickup. So, it was built to be a little more versatile than just a P bass (almost always a good thing). Then again, you don't have the J bass neck pickup on it, so pick your poison. The preamp is the main attraction of the Marcus Miller and both models have it. An 18 volt system with a mid sweep control is almost never seen at this price point. A P7 will cover MANY different sounds. There are MANY cheaper decent basses out there. Harley Benton, Squire, Schecter, Ibanez, Peavey, etc., etc.. Many are good starter basses. Overall, in my opinion you could easily do worse in choosing a Sire bass, but as I said we are all different. They are made in Indonesia and a new product, so resale value is a question not answered yet. $500 to $800 is not entry level, but cheap enough not to bust most budgets. Depends on YOU and your situation. Good luck.
Both Indonesia and China I believe. Most of the ones reaching the US are from Indonesia, it seems (purely anecdotal).
Yeah, I play lefty so I have to custom order and both my P7 and M7 are made in Indonesia.
Well, to be honest, orderable for a few months now, the first batch still only just now arriving, no? Or are they finally catching up?
Just installed black metal knobs (from ebay) on my P7 today. Got cheap ones, but still with set screws. All 7 together set me back about $10-$15. They look nice, but don't have any markers on top, so I may have to paint some on (haven't decided yet).
