I think I'm going to pick one of these up for my back up. I have a question though. I've been waiting for a 5 string Jaguar...AND I'm crazy about block inlays. For what ever reason only the 5 string Jazz basses were given the blocks.

Since they are pretty affordable I was thinking of getting one Jaguar and one Jazz and swapping the necks.

Does anyone see any issues with this? Do they have the same pockets and holes?

They're identical pockets/scales. I was planning on doing this, myself. :P

this one is my fave for sure

hope this one would available in Indonesia
even thought it's made in Indonesia :(

I had MIM sunburst Jazz that I sold off a couple years ago and swore I'd never get another sunburst body again, but I gotta say that one is calling my name. Maybe it is the maple board with pearl blocks and the black guard makes the body sexier. I dunno, but if I see one at the local GC with nice figuring under the paint then I don't think I could resist. :help:

Cool! The Squier Vintage Modified VI is now available for pre-order. I ordered one in Olympic white from Music123 with 10% off. $315 sounds like a very reasonable price for what sounds like it should be a very nice experimental bass for me! I think it is supposed to ship by August 16th, though the pre-order ship dates are often way off.

Anyone know where we can get direct replacements for these strings? the Squier website says it uses "NPS, .25-.95" and I'd like to not go thinner than that if possible, though the only thing I can find at a reasonable price are the Fenders and D'Adderios at .24-.84. OK, and just found Ernie Balls from .20 - .90.

I am really wanting the P5 in Oly White.

Do I need a 5, not totally, but this would be an easy way to get back onto a 5 string again.

Want to hear it in action first besides the Official Fender video...a Customer Review.

Please post a video, once received for us that are waiting to pull the trigger.

tink9975,

The original Jazz VM5 has 18mm spacing. The Affinity's are 19mm

The Jazz VM5, P VM5 and Jaguar VM5 all seem to be using the same bridge. So, I'd guess they are all 18mm.

Also, the Jag VM 5 is also available on the MF website: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] It's also $50 less than the P.

All the best,

Bob
