New Strings from SIT! "Foundations"

Cool Jason, I will give a review of these (nickel) when they arrive. Got a lot of gigs between now and the end of the year so they will get a good workout. I hope the tension and flexibility of these is more than Dunlop Super Brights.

Sounds good! You should be seeing them Thursday!

Mine arrive today!

Oh the suspense is killing me!

Yeah, let us know! You are an NYXL user correct? I like the feel of those but I personally thought the tone was a little too polite for lack of a better term. I'm hoping these Foundations will have a voicing similar to Dunlop Super Brights but not as noodly feeling. Mine should arrive over the next couple of days.

I have Foundations on the way to go head to head with SuperBrights.

Have you tried Sadowsky Black Label Nickels? I tried them on my Lakland and was surprised at how close they sound to SuperBrights. Maybe a little less crunchy in the mid’s but pretty close. I went to gauge down on the Sadowskys and they are a bit stiffer than the larger gauge superbrights so you might like them.

My strings came in today and SIT were nice enough to include some extra sets for me to do a review on.

I'm not sure how quickly I can review all 3 sets, but I will post a review here on all of them as soon as possible!

No never tried any Sadowsky strings actually. I think the Dunlop Super Brights would work for me if they were 110 90 70 50 or if my band played in standard tuning, were are a half step flat.

Well bad news for me, but possibly good news for others! These new foundations are pretty low tension, like Dunlop Super Brights, which is not my cup of tea.
I'm more of a medium tension guy, like DAddario NYXLs and Sadowsky Blue Labels, SO I have given all 3 sets to DARREN02, and he will be posting reviews of all 3 sets on this thread.
I'm sure that many of you will like these strings!

Thanks for the info on the tension. Kind of a bummer for me, I don't even know if it's worth my while to string them up for the gigs this weekend.

They are pretty bright brilliant sounding strings. They are flexible, but not sure I would say they are super flexible like the Super Brights.

Thanks Jason, I will give them an honest workout this weekend (plus I always have a second bass on hand in case I feel like they are too flexible). I appreciate you giving us bassist an opportunity to try out new things like this.
