New Tal Wilkenfeld clip-yummy

You're awesome man, you'll get there! Stop gassin and keep sheddin! :D

:) thanks man, you're too kind... yeah, so very true, need to stop surfing talkbass and do some practice...

the thing that really stands out to me about Tal is that she plays with conviction, with strong self belief in what she does. She has a raw energy that hasn't been cut down... She just does what she does.

I feel a bit sorry for her in a way.

She's a fine bassist, plays with lovely feel, nice groove, writes great stuff. Cute as a button etc.

But the 'future of jazz' jeez what a mantle to have to hump around for the rest of her career. Thats just so much hot air I know, but these kind of labels a) stick and b) are detrimental more often than not.

Hope it doesn't cause her any issues as she goes forward...

Though have in mind that she's like 21 and has already been touring with a cpl of the biggest ones out there ..

i am sure she will get around well in the end.

:)

I dig that little look she give the camera around 2:15. That was awesome. It made me laugh.

Her playing absolutely keeps my attention. Great feel and groove. I'm listening as I type and I sitting here movin' and groovin'.

The guy interviewing her seemed uncomfortable. She might be the "future of bass", but he is for certain not the future of broadcasting.

Thanks for posting that link.

Peace and Music,
Joe

so i was watching all of the jeff beck crossroads 2007 clips on the youtube. her playing is kickass actually her's was really the coolest bass playing i have seen lately but i was wondering whats up with her wrists? isnt she worried? or its actually not so important and near 90degree bends dont really cause those dreaded problems to everyone ?

She definitely has some chops, that's for sure. And she seems fairly humble about her fame, so I doubt she'll take the label "the future of bass" too seriously. Good on her!

Just a thought: The next person that post and asks about small hands and bass playing should get linked to some clips of Tal.
