New Tal Wilkenfeld clip-yummy

some day there shall ba a completely neutral thread about tal wilkenfeld, which shall involve no controversy or arguing...

on a more serious note, I picked up her album today and am very pleased with it. I am very proud to hear something from her that isnt a "bass heroics" album (victor wooten albums COUGH :hiding:) it is real music, and I like it a lot! so props to her, as a professional musician, and whatever her personality is, its none of my business or interest.

I think he's referring to her trying to play down her image. I guess she's not wearing hot enough clothes for him. I have to agree, too. I say very few girls are lucky enough to be in her spot, and had she been 300 lbs. or looked like Rodney Dangerfield in a dress, nobody would have ever heard of her no matter how good she is. That's not to say she can't play. You don't stand with Jeff Beck and Chick Corea unless you can seriously play. But geez, she shouldn't go out of her way to not look cute.

the show host reminded me of when Maroon 5 (i think) was playing on Letterman and dave came out and told the bassist, "hey, i like that guitar" lol

very cool clip though. my favorite track of hers is Oatmeal Bandage. I wish i got to play with Vinnie.

i have seen some good loking pics and bad pics of her but she has a "bass face" that really bugs me for some reason. GREAT PLAER THOUGH!!!!

Very true. We all make funny faces while playing. I will admit to it. My name is Byron and i have an ugly bass face.

+1 on jeff beck! and idk who played on the original recording of "cause we ended as lovers" but ill be totally honest, I HATEEEE HIS TONE!!!, so tal playing that otherwise beautiful jeff beck song REALLY was a treat for me. no offense to anybody who digs the original bass recording, i just think it sounds lousy personally.

For those interested...from some of the news items running along the bottom of the clip, it was around May last year. I think she was in Australia for the Melbourne Jazz Festival (it's about that time of year).

The host is Richard Wilkins (he is a kiwi who wishes he was Aussie :P) and was the original host of MTV in Australia waaaaay back in the 80s.
