New TC Elec. BH550 & 800

Indeed, I have to have the SpectraComp on the one toneprint knob to get the full punch out of the little BH250. Since the Rh450 has that already in it, I'd be happy with one toneprint on the Rh450 mk II...but indeed, not having both toneprints at the same time is a head scratcher. They must be saving that for the RH upgrades maybe? Still, to be able to flip a switch and have a chorus ready to go for a song or two would be handy. I also like the tuner adding a dedicated B string LED light. I would love if they came out with a rack kit for the new amps. Matching red aluminum no less.

I prefer the interface of the RH heads to the BH. It would be incredible to have an RH450 with 3 tone prints and footswitch with a tuner mute, three presets and three tone prints.

If TCE came out with a pre amp like they have in the BH550/800, and added the ability to combine say 3-4 tone prints, I think they would have a product that would interest me. I think their take on EQ is bright, and their customization blows the markbass equivalent out of the water. I just dont want their power management.

I really can't wait to see how they update the RH amps. I hope they make it a little smaller, not super small, I like the added weight of the RH amps, but they are probably larger than they need be nowadays. The design of the RH amps is really well done. I love that it's not just a rectangle box with knobs like most others out there. They designed the whole amp together. I liked the Genz heads, but just hated the way they looked. Felt so much cheaper than they were. Their Streamliner amps were great though, that was a nicely done design.

I don't believe I've ever heard anybody claim TC was too chincey on their feature sets. But I am looking for something a little different than my P500H. The end of this month my Promethean will be 5 yrs old. I have no idea what the average lifespan of these micros are. But I'm thinking it's time for a suitable back up. I had hoped for an upgraded version of it. P800/900/1000H with some tweaking perhaps; but alas, not to be. TC BH800 could be a winner, maybe.

I've got a crisp $1 dollar bill that says these amps don't produce anywhere near these power ratings. I absolutely LOVE their effects pedals but they've got a pretty poor track record on power ratings.

I'll take your bet. I'd be astonished if TC made that mistake again. These new amps have got to be their shot at redemption.

You would think so. Their manuals elude to power modules, and not actual power ratings.
