New TC Elec. BH550 & 800

I was never in a situation where I needed to crank it that loud so I did not experience this, but I wonder if that's why you can chain three of their cabs for that volume boost without having to crank it to that point.

Maybe, but when I got the 450, I also bought the RS2x10 and 2x12. They didn't last long as I was not a fan of their tone. I moved to a Berg AE410 (4ohms) and it was worse! Was it a combination of neo drivers and the power management system, I really don't know... what I do know is that at gig level (no p/a support) it got nasty sounding.
Moved from the AE410 to a NV610. The amp seems to like the sealed cab better, but again, that "wall" is there...
I only use the 450 for rehearsals now, my Marshall gets the gigs.

I like the color and layout of the 550 and 800 and find the graphics easy to read (on my monitor away).
Visually; I see the amp(s) as clean and elegant as my Promethean P500H but with the added bonus of 2 tone prints and the built in tuner.

If I like the way they sound, to ME, and if they are loud enough/seem to have enough headroom, for ME, then that's all I care about.

To be totally honest, I don't give a poopie what they bench test at. I'm not getting involved in this constant bickering back and forth about a tired old issue.

If I like the amp, I'll buy one. If I don't like it, I'll look elsewhere.

When you can't trust what they say & you cant try it before you buy... you're FORCED to wait for the bench... and thats a shame.

I'm pushing a GK NEO 412 for outdoor gigs without PA support... I need the full power & I'd be pissed if it wasnt what was represented. I would have owned a RH750 if they didn't pull this crap. I love the feature set.

If they can't get it right on this product roll out you better believe this company has NO desire to become reputable in the future so I'll write them off & gladly leave TC threads. I'd hope they can do it right so we can consider them in the future... thats why we are here

My needs are different. I always have (very good) full PA support. I never need to cover an entire room. I use IEMs also.

My 1001 RB-II and Neo 412 are way more than I need.

I want smaller/simpler. One of these heads into a pair of 112s or a single 212 might be just the ticket.

So, like I stated---I might give one a try. The TonePrint feature really interests me. Having a decent chorus without a separate pedal would be handy as hell for me. And if it works, for ME, then, as I stated, I don't care about bench tests.

Yeah, we'll see what happens. This amp just really got my interest based on features alone.

Hell, I may stick with GK and get an MB Fusion and a pair of Neo 112s.

I still might keep my 1001 and Neo 412 as well, just because it sounds frickin awesome. .....Who knows.
