Well its late but I have some clips.
Both of these are DI straight into the board meaning its the preamp only. Sounds really sweet to me. The first is the original rock band last night and the second I did just now (a cover).
So these are both straight in (no pedals save for my trust Fdeck in the effects loop), no compression, no post EQ, no nothing.
Both are full songs, the band will fade out, in and out, in the first. The second is bass only.

There is a lot of interesting things about this amp for me. I've never owned an all tube because they are usually so expensive and so cumbersome. The YBA-100 avoids both of those issues.
I play very fast and aggressive music. Are all tube amps good for that sort of thing? Or are they better suited for the P with tort playing covers crowd?

I've played everything from Alkaloid to the Beatles to Bach on mine, if that helps.
Depends on the amp, of course. Would I want to play fast aggressive metal on an old Ampeg B15? No probably not. Sure works great with my Verellen Meatsmoke though.
Is a YBA100 good for Metal? I have no idea.

I don't understand the whole "metal amp" thing in the bass world, since you're splitting, boosting and compressing the hell out of your treble, and the recombining it with your pristine bass signal before you ever hit an amp.
I get it for guitars, totally*, but getting a good extreme metal bass tone has almost nothing to do with the amp.

It's even more mind boggling than all that. That's like asking what a good amp for rock is. The genre is so broad that one player may want something completely different from another. There's such a wide gamut of desirable tones depending on the style of metal being played.
I think with an amp like this, the biggest factor would likely be the amount of clean headroom at volume - assuming you want a clean tone.

Relax, Francis. Progressive and avant-garde extreme metal bands like Thantifaxath and Unexpect are as dear to my heart as King Crimson and Deep Purple.

Actually, a dimed HM-2 if you're doing the Swedish death metal thing. Though, the Metal Zone Waza is surprisingly amazing on custom mode.
Didn't mean to bag on anyone, sorry I came across that way.
That being said, nothing in my previous post constituted trolling; what I said is, generally speaking, valid. I just missed the reference to quick, aggressive metal. Quick/punchy isn't what every metal bassist goes for, but if I'd been paying attention, I'd have realized that was the tonal neighborhood being discussed.
