A P with no tone pot is a little more agressive grindy than a P with the tone at full(max).

You just won't get that deep, highs rolled off, dubby/Jamerson sound.

this was right after i finished it, i have fallen out of love with it, but its still a great bass. Pick ups wiring wise its the same as pete's it was not made to copy his bass this was my own take on a hoppus bass.

Is FOB popular anymore? I don't listen to a lot of top 40 stuff at all, so I am not exposed to it much. But, despite previous attempts to avoid their Cock It and Pull It song several years ago I still heard it. I don't seem to be hit with their music like that anymore. I thought their style of music was kind of a fading trend (poppy emo style music with fake British accents).

The reason I ask this is because I am surprised that they are seemingly less popular than before, but he still gets a signature bass.

Again, I don't listen to the radio much or top 40, so I could be completely off base here.

I dont think Pete Wentz is a good bass player, I dont think he deserves his own series of guitars.

But personal judgements aside.... To me landing your own line of guitars is a right of passage, marking the fact you have in some way brought a new level, technique, or sound of playing to the stage. Such as other Fender artist models like Jaco Pastorius, Markus Miller, Stu Hamm, or Geddy Lee. So IMO what has Wentz really done besides look cool and know how to market himself? Realy? any thoughts on that?? :confused:

It's not necessarily a "new" release. Its kind of like adding and removing color options from Fender selections.

Like how Squier added Olympic White and Lake Placid Blue to the 50's CV Strat.

...speaking of which, they still haven't added any new color options of the CV Basses...
