Word, man. I could get one of those as a backup, punk it up with stickers and stuff and leave it at that. But i'd probhably go for the red.
If you FOB haters can bring yourselves to listen to some recordings and/or live videos, you'll hear the pete wentz sig has some damn good tone. It's probhably the pickups + lack of tone knob.

Bing! Excuse his annoying crowd-riling shinanigans, and check out this tone - it screams "How a Precision is meant to sound" to me.
If it wasnt for that silly bat logo, i think many people would have purchased this bass by now.
Warmoth has it, my Black & Maple Jazz may just get an update, how would white pearl top knobs match with the purple guard though....
Dire, dreadful song, great tone, though.
I didn't care for the red, don't care for purple. Take that stuff away and there is not all tha much that makes it special, so I am not sure if I would bother. Without the bat, nwither one looks all that bad, but not my cup of tea.
Basically, its a VM Precision, just with a J neck, maple fretboard, and no tone pot.

Noticeable differences:

- Heel truss adjustment
- Duncan Basslines Quarter Pounder P pickups
Thats my point. Not that those are not some fairly significant mods to a regular P, but I for one would not like the lack of a tone pot. That and ifI was going to get a P with a Jazz neck, Id want a PJ pup config for versatility's sake. I don't really get into the lightly changed sig models. To me the sigs that I am interested in are either replicas of a famous bass (like the Jaco or MM) or are totally out there sigs like an LK Ric. Just my opinion. To me taking away a pot and putting a bat on it just don't quite cut it.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I quite agree, but, for the price, if it wasn't a sig bass, and didn't have all the markings, it would be a fine bass.
Still love the purple pickguard, but that can be put on any p-bass easily enough.

Darkstrike, I like the purple pickguard as well, in terms of it looks good in and of itself, I just don't think I would personally like it. I think you are right though, just get one and put it on a P bass. I for one think it would look best on MW or possibly Oly white. I generally like black Ps with black pickguards. I know, revolutionary idea huh

if you dont have an active eq should be fairly easy to check. Crack out a soldering iron and run direct from volume to output.Used to have that wiring on a old hohner i have before i had the pickups replaced.Unfortunatly that was the way i got the bass so i couldnt tell you if removing the tone pot made a diff.
Anyone know if removing the tone pot changes the sound of your bass?
