New Zoom B3 has arrived!!!!

it did not do too much colorisation but yes i do notice a substantial tone suck, usually there is more resonance and more zing from the vampyre and a huge growl from the taranis, those 2 qualities has been tamed but i am now trying to find a amp sim (always on effect) that sounded good to mitigate it (i like the huge growl and zing). still tweaking

i am going on tour this friday and taking the B3. i have streamlined it to just a G30>B3, than the usual pedalboard i used. i chuck it on a DIY pedalboard just enuff space for the G30>B3 and chug it in the luggage. did not even bother to bring in the Avalon U5.. i will solely be on the B3. Tech rider told me the rig they got for the show is a Hartke 1000H. with 1x15 and 4x10 XL so DI from the B3 to FOH and the Hartke as my stage monitors. My ears are still biases to the M9 but i try to make this work for me, will feedback what the FOH says after the week long tour.

and i only book the airline with 15kg luggage allowance, usually it be 30kg. save me $80 bucks :)

Yeah, I haven't used a multi in many years. They're doing a good job turning heads initially.

I just got a B3 in the other day from Japan and can confirm that you can use a USB wall plug to power it up which is what I'm doing - So thanks all for prior info. on this.

One thing that gets me though is when you change from Patch mode to Effects/Stompbox mode (by holding foot switch one), and then want to go back to Patch mode (by holding foot switch one again), what ever pedal is in slot 1 will be either turned on or off depending on what it was...what a pain!

Any one else noticed this with a G3/B3 ? or is this just the nature of the beast?

Hmm, I have been looking at the Digitech bp355, my guitarist has the rp350 and its very cool, but this might be more suited for me, I like the stomp box type layout. I always found multieffects to be uhm, well confusing, i liked the dials, buttons and switches of my stomp boxes, what had me going on the bp355 was that you could program the settings by computer via usb, but this has that and a layout that makes a bit more sense too me.

I owned the BP355 for less than a week before pulling the trigger on the B3 - why? the looper kills on the B3, double the capacity (40secs.), syncs perfectly (you have to be a ninja on the BP355) and you can use the built in Rhythms at the same time (you can't on the BP355).

My earlier assumption below is incorrect - sorry about leading anyone astray on that one.

the B3 works great, just came back from a tour and the DI works really good. FOH was a happy camper..

1 of the venue the bass amp for as a total mismatch, some really old or vintage fender bassman 70 + equally very old 4x10 ampeq, but it has a sub-woofer and huge PA. its a outdoor by the beach kinda show.

the B3 + G30 came out a winner. i glad i swap out my big board for this B3. thumbs up! if u still in doubt buy it cos its cheap and u definitely going to use it for a show or 2.

Bummer. I just ordered an ampeg portaflex stack, and while the PF500 does have an aux input, it will only play through headphones. The only way (that I know of) to get a bass AND mp3 signal to come out of the speaker cabinet is to run the mp3 through an effects processor.

Is there possibly some other kind of pedal I could run the mp3 into next to the b3?
