New Zoom B3 has arrived!!!!

So does this mean I can plug my ipod headphone output into the usb jack with a usb adapter and it will mix the signal from that with my bass, and send everything to my amp?

I like simple, so id rather avoid always having to be connected to a laptop.

I emailed Samsontech yesterday about release date and here was the reply:

The Zoom B3 should hit the market in late Feb/March.
They will be sold nation wide at Guitar center, Samash, Sweetwater.com Etc.

the B3 becomes your sound card and u can play mp3s or videos or whatever thru the B3 and play along with your bass via the usb.

and the speaker output can be thru your amp, pc speakers, headphones, or whatever u fancy.

and u can also record and playback to hear how well u doing with the bundle DAW steinberg le

Hey guys.

I've just gone through the presets on my new B3 & i must say... i'm impressed. There were quite a few :eek: & :D & :cool: moments in there! I have been looking for a compact fx solution for gigs where space is limited or the punters are..... energetic (& careless with their drinks!) & i think i've found it. I tried the Korg AX5B & was very disappointed with the sound & build quality (admittedly it was only $AU150) but this puppy oozes quality. Zoom have definitely put some work into this one. Looking forward to exploring all this little gem has to offer.

This looks like it could replace my meager pedal board (based around a BFX-708) if the pass-through tone doesn't have the tone-suck of the 708. So I've been watching for them to become available in the US and now they are showing as preorder at Sam Ash and a listing for two popped up on ebay: eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

There was only 1 left available after I got done. We'll see if it's actually in stock and ships now.

Is it that much better than the B2? I have a B2 and a B9...the B9 is too large for my pedal board, but sounds a bit better than my B2 through headphones. In a live environment, I tend to blend back to my amp tone and use the B2 for a wah or chorus effect including the tuner as a bonus.

It will be nice to hear some comparisons once the B3 is out and about.

That's not too bad a price considering most people figured it would go for $200-$275. But I have a feeling that price will go up once the new wears off, not much profit in selling a unit like that for 50% off all the time.

I don't think 'list' price means much anymore. They always throw some ridiculously high price out there that no one has ever paid and then 'discount' it so it looks like a deal. The guitar and bass pedal prices seem to parallel and the G3 was $199, so it seems right that $199 is what street price would be.

Right you are, I don't think anyone sells things at List price anymore.
