Figures LOL. I just received my B9.1ut yesterday (took a month from hellomusic).

I have the B2 which is decent, but the B9 takes it to the next level in sound quality. Thing is, it is kinda big.

If the B3 has the sound quality of the B9, it will be a winner.

The B3's sampling frequency is "only" 44.1 KHz, and the B9 has 96Khz. Anyway, both of them are over CD quality, I don't know if any of us would hear the difference. But the B3 has the latest processor ZFX IV which supposed to make the sound better.. It would be nice to hear one finally!

I have to say, some of the effects they chose to model have me very interested in this.

Moog MF-101
Slicer
Aguilar and MarkBass amps
Dual Band Compressor
Xotic bass BB
Bit-Crusher
Korg G5
Roland Jet Phase

If they actually did these well this thing will be pretty great.

I was waiting for this one.
I have noticed that many of the effects are the same as in G3. Wonder if they are exactly the same or have ben somewhat customised for bass...

Looking at the owners manual, all the distortions have a blend control, so my guess is they took the guitar models and just added a blend. I'm not sure what the story is with the other types of effects.

Since I'm pretty familiar with tweaking the G3 at this point (for bass), I'm guessing (hoping?) they will adjust some of the behind the scenes EQ curves as well. You can typically get where you need to be (generally) with the G3 for bass, but it's not entirely as easy as it COULD be. If the EQing was different it could really change the game IMO.

I don't see a vast difference between the reverbs/delays on my B1x and B2 (except additional control parameters on the latter) which was why I dropped the idea of getting a B2.1u recently. I like the delay/reverb options quite a bit as well, but I'd like a little more variety. The B3 does seem quite varied in this department - I count 13 delays and 8 reverbs in the manual - but I'm waiting for reviews before making a decision.

well it might be better ALL effects there becourse of new processor....not 3 gen now we have IV gen so it must be better))

I'll own this new generation in some form for sure.

I own the B2 and like it very much. Sounds very good to me, does a whole lot, and I think the tuner is top notch, tracking as fast or faster than most pedal tuners.

I'll have to wait until there's a B3 compact - or until the price of this one drops. Definitely don't have budget room for a 200 dollar pedal - with the other acquisitions on the list. :) [another bass, and a lightweight combo :) ]

But, eventually, it will find it's way in some form to my gig bag.
Could really use the XLR out.

I wish they'd make their pedals black, not bright red, but I realize that's just me. Most probably like the red chassis.

Cool, I look forward to checking the B3 out. I own a B2, which doesn't impress me much (mucho low end loss, less-than- useful drum machine, more emphasis on number of features than sound quality, etc), so hopefully I'll dig the B3 more.

This thing has a very promising list of effects available:

* Combfilter
* Bitcrusher
* Moog LPF
* Synths and organ sounds

Plus all your bread-n-butters and amp sims. Lots of potential.

Only downside I see is there's no way to really quickly bop between patches. It's really designed to control 3 individual effects not to quickly select between entire banks and/or entire patches. Not saying it's a deal killer, but that's how I would normally use my other multieffects. Collections of patches, plus control or toggle individual effects within each patch. But normally just bop between entire patches.

Has no MIDI IN/OUT so there's no way to slave to MIDI CLOCK. I realize that's a fairly specific and small user group that'd want this. But I'm in it.

Isn't there a usb-->midi conversion thingy somewhere?:confused:

However the unit itself simply doesn't provide any MIDI sync capabilities. The manual doesn't reference anything other than 2in-2out audio and patch editing via USB.

It appears to only support tap tempo. And even then if you want to tap tempo live you can only do it if you connect an external pedal to the CTRL IN jack at which point you then lose the ability to also connect an expression. Or bend over and tap the itty bitty tempo control on the hardware UI which is never going to happen live.

Hopefully they come out with a B3.1 or something that has more control capabilities.
